Where to go to study to work in the FSB. Rules of the game or how to enter a university of the FSB of Russia

Defense of the state has always been an honorable activity. The people directly implementing it enjoyed great honor and authority in society. In addition, the constant wars that were fought throughout human history significantly enriched members of the military class. In some countries, the military was considered the highest caste with the most rights. A great example is the Japanese samurai. However, on the territory of our fatherland, warriors and their achievements have also been glorified at all times. It should be noted that the training system for such people is of great importance. After all, the need for professional military personnel will never go away. The system of training soldiers itself requires a special approach, since their skill consists not only of physical strength, but also of certain psychological qualities. In this case, it is worth noting the specifics of training the elite of all armed and security forces, that is, intelligence and state security. The latter structure performs extremely important functional tasks in the modern world. Therefore, the training of its representatives must be carried out at the highest level. In the Russian Federation today there is a Federal Security Service. This department is responsible for ensuring the security of our country. Specialists for its ranks are trained at a special FSB Academy.

What's happened

As mentioned earlier, in any state, security forces play an important role. The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation belongs to such formations. The number of the department is currently classified. The main task is to provide for the Russian Federation.

It should be noted that the FSB, according to existing legislation, is the body that is authorized to carry out operational investigative activities. The department is replenished through recruitment for military and civil service. According to the regulations governing the work of the FSB, its activities are carried out in the following areas, namely:

Counterintelligence;

Fight against terrorism;

Intelligence activities;

Border activities;

Information Security;

Fighting especially dangerous crime.

The main department is the security of the Russian Federation.

General information about the higher education institution

The Academy of the Russian Federation is a military institution that trains officers for the FSB. In addition, this institution also trains personnel for other intelligence agencies, as well as special services of friendly states. That is, we are talking about a complex military institution with a fairly broad training base.

The Academy was created in 1992 by a special presidential decree. The basis for the formation of this institution was the KGB Higher School named after Felix Edmundovich Dzerzhinsky.

History of the academy's creation

The FSB Academy, whose faculties are presented in the article, begins its history with the courses of the All-Russian Emergency Commission, formed in 1921. The courses trained operational personnel for the Cheka. It is worth noting that a significant contribution to the training was made by teachers who had quite a lot of operational experience gained in carrying out special operations “Trust” and “Syndicate”. In 1934, fundamental changes took place in the structure of the state's law enforcement agencies.

The People's Commissariat of Internal Affairs is created. This leads to the creation of the Central School of the Main Directorate of State Security within the structure of the Soviet NKVD. During the Second World War, the educational institution graduated several thousand workers who managed to organize a fairly effective fight against the Nazis. The next reform of the school took place in 1952. On its basis, the Higher School of the USSR Ministry of State Security was formed. In 1962, this educational institution was named after Felix Edmundovich Dzerzhinsky.

Academy structure

The FSB Academy, the faculties of which are presented in the article, trains personnel in many specialties that are in demand today in law enforcement and military departments. The structure of a higher institution contains three main segments within which training is carried out.

1) The Institute for Training Operational Staff provides qualified training of personnel in a number of main areas of activity of the FSB. Within this division of the academy there are investigative and counterintelligence departments. In both cases, graduates of the institution receive a diploma in the specialty “Legal Support of National Security”. The first trains employees of the FSB investigative units, and the second trains operational workers. At the same time, the counterintelligence faculty trains employees in two specific areas: operational activities with knowledge of foreign languages and knowledge of modern information technologies.

2) The second division of the academy is the Institute of Cryptography, Communications and Informatics. Its graduates today are rightfully considered the best specialists in the field of information security. At the end of the training, employees are given the qualification “information security specialist.”

3) The Faculty of Foreign Languages is the youngest department of the university. It was created in 1990. The faculty trains professional translators for the FSB.

Features of admission - first stages

There are many features of the recruitment process that the FSB Academy is famous for. Faculties and specialties of different directions are replenished with personnel on absolutely equal terms. The first stage of selection is a medical examination. To enter the academy you must be in good health. It will be checked throughout the entire period of study at the institution.

The second stage is the polygraph. Many applicants mistakenly consider such a test to be something easy. However, the polygraph tests a person’s honesty, respect for military service, his amenability to control, etc. Therefore, the test must be approached as seriously as possible.

Special exams and physical fitness assessment

If the applicant does not have any comments regarding his mental and physiological level, then he is allowed to take the internal exams. Physical fitness is tested in three tests: pull-ups, 100-meter run and 3000-meter run.

Additional tests are exams in individual disciplines. To enter a particular faculty, knowledge in various subjects is tested. For example, the investigative unit conducts additional exams in social studies and the Russian language, and the Institute of Cryptography conducts additional exams in physics and mathematics. Before entering, it’s a good idea to take advantage of special preparatory courses that improve the level of applicants.

Learning process

The FSB Academy, the faculties of which are presented in the article, prepares. The learning process is quite complex and specific. Students actively study law, mathematics and foreign languages. Much attention is paid to physical training, as it is one of the major subjects. Most items are classified. Some subjects are taught in such a way that even pens, let alone notes, cannot be taken out of the classrooms.

Daily life of students

The fact that studying at the FSB Academy can greatly unite people is not an exaggeration. Throughout all years of service, students at this institution are in almost constant contact with each other. But these are not all the features of preparation. For example, it is not advisable for students to distribute information about their studies on social networks. Talking to friends about it is also prohibited.

It should be noted that a large proportion of all students are girls. They, equally with representatives of the stronger sex, can declare that they were forged as professionals by the famous FSB Academy. “Faculties for girls” is a common misconception. There are simply no such units. Girls enter along with boys into those faculties that are provided for by the structure of the higher educational institution.

Academy management

For many years, the academy was headed by representatives of senior officers. Today the head is Viktor Vasilievich Ostroukhov. He holds the rank of Colonel General. At one time, Viktor Vasilyevich Ostroukhov graduated from the Higher Red Banner School of the KGB. In addition to military activities, he also conducts scientific activities and is a doctor of legal sciences.

So, we looked at what the FSB Academy is. Faculties, exams and specifics of training were presented in the article. In conclusion, it is worth noting that working in state security agencies is not suitable for everyone. But if you have firmly decided to become an employee of this department, then you need to discard any doubts and persistently pursue your goal.

In order to become an employee of the Federal Security Service, of course, you need to obtain a higher education, but to solve the question “where to go to study?” First you need to decide on your choice of profession. In the FSB, as well as in any other organization, a person must perform a certain labor function, that is, work in a certain profession.

The structure of the FSB bodies includes, in addition to the Central Office of the FSB of Russia and local territorial bodies, also bodies and security bodies in the troops. The Federal Security Service has its own aviation detachments, special forces units, and units that provide auxiliary assistance in carrying out the tasks facing state security agencies. Such “auxiliary” units are understood as research, expert and medical institutions subordinate to the FSB.

Thus, the FSB agencies require employees of various specialties: lawyers, experts, and other military specialists.

Universities FSB

The main educational institutions that train personnel for counterintelligence are universities that are part of the FSB system. There are such universities in various regions of Russia. These are the institutes of the FSB of Russia in the cities of St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Yekaterinburg, and the Academy of the FSB of Russia, located in Moscow. However, at the Academy of the FSB of Russia, current employees mainly improve their qualifications, while everyone has the opportunity to enter the institutes of the structure. The rules and procedures for admission to FSB universities can be found on the official website of the selected institute.

In addition to these educational institutions, there are universities in the FSB system. These are the Border Academy of the FSB of Russia in Moscow, and the Border Institutes in Moscow, in the Moscow region (in the city of Golitsyno, Odintsovo district), as well as the Kaliningrad, Kurgan and Khabarovsk border institutes. Institutes have branches in other cities of the country. For example, in the Stavropol Territory there is a branch of the Golitsyn Border Institute.

In educational institutions of the FSB, you can obtain higher education in the specialties “legal support of national security”, psychology of official activities”, “border activities”. These areas of training fill the ranks of personnel with employees of foreign and internal intelligence departments, highly qualified psychologists and lawyers of various fields, as well as officers of border units.

But these are not all the specialties necessary for the operation of such a powerful structure. In the work of intelligence officers, technical means play an important role, and, therefore, technical specialists are required to maintain them and even develop and create them. Specialists in this category are trained both in universities, such as the Institute of New Information Technologies in Moscow, and in civilian educational institutions. Graduates with rare technical specialties are often invited to work in the system.

Military universities

The FSB organs are known to ordinary people mainly through the brave fighters of the Alpha, Vympel detachments, and other special forces units. Contrary to popular belief, to serve in these units it is also necessary to obtain a higher education. You can become a representative of the elite by graduating from, for example, RVVVDKU, popularly called “Ryazanka”, where they train specialist saboteurs, military translators, and officers of airborne units. You can also graduate from college in St. Petersburg, where the so-called Marines receive their education. Among the special educational institutions of the FSB is the Coast Guard Institute, which is located in the city of Anapa.

Service in the FSB is not only intelligence; the FSB also carries out anti-terrorism activities, deals with the detection and investigation of crimes against state security. Future and operational employees can receive education at higher educational institutions of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in the relevant areas of training.

Currently, it is considered very prestigious to train as an FSB officer in order to have a good salary. How to enter the FSB after 9th grade and is it possible to pass the exams without any connections? Are there any specific health requirements? Many high school students dream of studying at an institution such as the FSB school. How to apply after 9th grade to the chosen faculty? First, you should think about whether a person needs a profession, whether he can cope with job responsibilities, where he can work if he receives a diploma. It is very important. Graduates of the FSB Academy are in great demand, but it is necessary to understand that officer service is sometimes associated with frequent moves, changes in place of residence, and work in difficult conditions and in border zones. Not all people agree to endure some inconveniences, especially for the fair sex.

What is so attractive about the FSB Academy? It turns out that not only children of high-ranking officers can enroll in this educational institution after 9th grade. But it will be difficult to do this. The high level of salaries of the structure’s employees allows us to consider the academy a very prestigious university. If a high school student has finally decided that he should connect his life with the federal security service, first he must pass a medical examination. The most stringent requirements are imposed on applicants. A student at an educational institution and a future officer should not have serious chronic diseases. This rule is observed very strictly. Even if you have connections in the admissions committee, it is simply impossible to enter the academy through dishonest means. As a rule, a medical examination takes place in a departmental clinic. When applying to an educational institution, you must fill out a form. All information provided in it is verified.

A serious obstacle to entering the academy may be a not-so-clean biography of a close relative or a criminal record of one of the family members. If the high school student himself was brought to criminal or administrative liability, you can forget about studying at the FSB school. If the medical examination is successfully completed and there are no other obstacles to further admission, the applicant is allowed to take the exams. The list of subjects that are required is specified by the admissions committee. As a rule, applicants have to take Russian language and social studies. These exams are conducted in written form. The chosen faculty is also of great importance. For example, for future counterintelligence officers, it is planned to pass not only Russian language and social studies, but also foreign languages.

For some faculties where specialists proficient in information technology are taught, it is necessary to pass exams in the Russian language, social studies and mathematics. Some FSB schools also require passing an exam in physics. Applications are accepted approximately from mid-summer. Training begins, as in all educational institutions, on September 1. To increase your chances of successful admission, you need to prepare in advance for submitting documents and passing entrance tests. Already from the first quarter of 8th grade, you can begin to find out the conditions for admission to the academy and clarify the list of exams. If possible, you should take preparatory courses and work with a tutor. Some academies offer special courses to prepare for admission.

Experts advise weighing your chances before applying. There is not too much competition for admission to some areas of study. Sometimes it makes sense to apply to a less prestigious faculty. Moreover, the possibility of transferring to another specialty still exists. Some high school students are interested in whether it is even worth enrolling in the FSB Academy after 9th grade. Maybe it would be better to try your luck after graduating from secondary school? But after 11th grade, as practice shows, it can be even more difficult to enroll. It is also necessary to warn applicants that in some cases they are required to undergo a lie detector or polygraph test. This procedure will be repeated throughout the entire training period at certain intervals. FSB officers also regularly undergo polygraph tests in order to quickly identify cases of corruption.

The FSB is the security agency of the Russian Federation and its citizens. Graduates of various universities and military personnel dream of joining it. However, it is important to understand that candidates for the FSB are selected with special care and according to a special scheme. Let us consider in detail how to get a job in this body and what requirements the candidate must meet.

Physical training

Applicants for service in the FSB are required to meet a number of physical training requirements. The candidate must be at least 175 cm tall and under 28 years of age. You will need to pass physical fitness standards:

  • pull-up on the bar;
  • 3 km cross;
  • 100m run in 12 seconds;
  • hand-to-hand combat.

Education and health

The candidate must have a higher, secondary specialized or complete education. But it is important to take into account that if you pass the selection, you will have to additionally study at a school or academy of the FSB.

Special requirements are placed on the candidate’s health. It will be necessary to undergo a serious medical commission, which will determine the applicant’s suitability for service in the FSB. At the same time, if he has serious illnesses, then the probability of passing the selection is low.

Professional suitability

When selecting candidates for service in the FSB, special attention is paid to professional suitability. Special tests are used for this. They allow you to determine the level of intelligence and speed of thinking of a candidate, his psychological suitability for the chosen position, communication skills, and ability to solve difficult problems in a limited time interval and with a minimum amount of resources.

Candidate verification

Before joining the FSB, you must pass a background check. The service authorities carefully study the applicant’s personal file, as well as information about his family and relatives. It is important to note that this procedure begins only after the candidate’s consent. If he objects or ignores the notification, he is automatically excluded from applicants for service in the FSB.

Preparation of documents

To apply for service in the FSB, you must provide this body with the following package of documents:

  1. A handwritten application requesting consideration of his candidacy for a job in the security forces. It must indicate that you know what restrictions are imposed on FSB employees in accordance with current legislation.
  2. An autobiography, which must be written independently in free form and by hand.
  3. Questionnaire of the established form.
  4. Personal documents: military ID, passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation, document on receipt of education, marriage or birth certificate of children (if any).
  5. Documents of close relatives: passports and civil registration certificates.
  6. Information about property, income and other property-related obligations (mortgage, pledge, etc.).
  7. Photos of the candidate of the established standard.
  8. Extract from the house register for the family.

The applicant’s application and package of documents are reviewed by the FSB within 15-30 days. If his candidacy is approved, an interview with his parents will be scheduled in the coming days. A written consent is taken from them confirming that they do not object to their child serving in the FSB.

Reasons for refusal

Now let’s look at the reasons why a candidate may be denied service in the Federal Security Agency of the Russian Federation:

  • unsatisfactory results of the military medical commission;
  • declaring the candidate incompetent;
  • have citizenship of another country;
  • the candidate or his relatives lived or live in another state;
  • frequent trips to other countries;
  • inconsistencies in biographical and personal data were identified;
  • unsatisfactory results in physical training;
  • the candidate did not score the required number of points on the tests.

“After the 9th grade, I began to think about enrolling. An eleventh-grader I knew told me that he was entering the FSB Academy. Our language lyceum is one of the strongest in Moscow, we often receive orders from the department of foreign languages of this university, so I don’t I was very surprised."

Mikhail, applicant to the FSB Academy

I must admit that my friend was in excellent physical shape - he ran the best hundred meters, did the most pull-ups, and did powerlifting. I remember how he flexed his muscles in the school yard during physical education - all the guys looked at him enviously, pretending not to notice, and the most beautiful girls giggled cheerfully, crowding around him in a group. But the guy didn’t react to them. He was always calm and unperturbed. “This is what a real FSB officer should be like,” I thought and decided to prepare to also enroll in Foreign Languages.

First, I took up physical training: for a year and a half I went to the gym, jogged, and skied. Secondly, I tried to get closer to him so that he would tell me more about the Academy, but that was not the case. He didn't say anything new. He only said once: “In AFSB, it’s best to choose a wife. This one will keep her mouth shut and will go with you to the ends of the world.” The desire to look at such girls became an additional incentive for me to enroll. The main motive was simple: the fate of an FSB officer is the choice of real men, capable of much for the sake of their country. So this is my destiny.

The epic of admission began in the eleventh grade. Now, even with his authoritative silence, my friend could not help me - he did it, I lost sight of him on social networks. They say that Academy students are generally forbidden to “sit” in them. I went to the Academy once and signed up for courses. The procedure was incredibly complicated. Two weeks later, an FSB officer contacted me and held a so-called conversation - an introduction. The very first question: “Do you have any relatives serving in the FSB or convicts?” Neither the first nor the second were found. I acted without cronyism and lived in an ordinary honest family. After that, I received confirmation that I was enrolled in courses at the Academy.

Classes have started. My level of German was quite high, so there were no problems. In Russian language and social studies - they were. The level of the teachers was so high that I spent several days preparing for each lesson. Little attention was paid to the Unified State Examination here. We were strictly forbidden to talk about how we were taught and what we were asked. I understood the main thing - I need to pass a medical examination, pass internal exams in the necessary subjects and keep quiet.

But first, you had to get a medical examination pass. Parents with applicants stand for hours to receive the coveted coupon for a medical examination at their place of residence. Everything is very strict with the medical commission - the slightest deviation and you are out of the game. Here everyone is really watching - in front of me they “wrapped up” a guy whose visual acuity was 1.2% below the required level. Guys with unkempt hair covering their ears are immediately shown the door. However, I passed this stage successfully.

The next test is a psychological test. For 4 hours, applicants sit in a special room and answer seemingly idiotic questions. For example: “How do you feel about death?”, “What do you do at night when you don’t want to sleep?” We were asked to solve several strange problems. They show you a picture of an apple tree. You can easily count how many apples there are. And next to the tree stands a girl with a basket. They ask the question: “How many apples does Masha have?” You need to choose from several intricate options. At the last stage, my head started spinning: the officer showed me 50 figures for 10 seconds, then mixed them up and asked me to arrange them in the original order. The third test is a polygraph. I already realized that the FSB’s strong point is simple questions with complex overtones, so I was mentally prepared. But when I found myself alone in a dark room with a serious man in uniform, I was involuntarily taken aback. The questions confused me, my heart sank. Then I was informed that admission was over for me.

It was a shame that I didn’t get to the point of passing physical education and specialized subjects - I prepared a lot. But, apparently, I’m not so restrained and calm as to become a real FSB man.

“Based on my experience, I can say: people enter the AFSB either through family tradition or out of crystal-clear romance. By the way, subsequently such “romantics” of our profession create family traditions. Let’s make a reservation right away: the majority of people enter the investigative and counterintelligence faculties places are signed among "their own". There is a small opportunity to enroll in the Faculty of Foreign Languages and ICSI*. I repeat: small. If an applicant is frightened by any difficulties upon admission, then there is no point in meddling with the authorities. Everything is clear here - you have decided, that means you are acting "To the end. I'll give you the numbers: out of 150 applicants, 20 people make it to the internal exams."

Nikolay, graduate of the Faculty of Foreign Languages of the FSB Academy, former FSB officer

Mikhail has very necessary qualities for our profession - he managed to find the right people, he has the willpower to train physically, he meets the medical parameters. In general, a medical examination is not an easy test. Here everyone is on an equal footing, despite the fact that someone has a grandfather who is a general. By the way, during your entire training, medical workers check your health every six months. When I was studying at the Academy, a guy died during our daily jog - his heart stopped, unable to withstand the stress. It turned out that he was a relative of some prominent official in the authorities. There was a huge scandal, and from that moment on the selection criteria became even more stringent.

I hope that if Misha successfully passes the polygraph, he would pass the General Physical Fitness exam*. I think he had no illusions about physical training. The standards in the AFSB are not for weaklings - for the test you need to do 11 pull-ups without shortness of breath, run a hundred meters in a maximum of 13.30 seconds, and cover three kilometers in 12 minutes. There is only one piece of advice here: if your hand reaches for beer or a joystick in the evening, go run to the park or lift weights in a rocking chair. But things did not reach this stage. Misha failed on the polygraph. The situation is understandable, because personnel officers have already begun to compile lists of potential freshmen. Maybe the documents submitted by Mikhail did not contain the necessary recommendations from FSB officers. Apparently, this was one of his main mistakes. Or maybe the guy really was an excellent candidate for enrollment in the AFSB, but did not know how to answer questions correctly. On a polygraph you are like a transparent sheet, your inner beliefs become visible to the personnel officer as if in purgatory. Therefore, it is important to be a patriot, to value the title of officer, to express this honestly and truthfully, without pathos. No joke, this is important.

In addition, Misha was going to take the German language; he graduated from a language gymnasium. Of course, schoolchildren study German a little less often than English. But still, those who speak rarer languages: French, Spanish, Chinese or Hindi have a chance to enroll without cronyism.

A very right step is to enroll in courses at the Academy. This is a good preparatory school, but not always sufficient. For example, I, speaking German at a native level, worked hard with a tutor in foreign, Russian and social studies for two years. I wanted to do it for sure and threw all my strength into it. As a result, he entered the top twenty enrolled.

Already from the first year, my illusions about studying there began to dissipate. A freshman immediately feels like he is entering the system. You know that your ten years are already planned out. The first five of them you strain all your strength, study. The second five you repay your homeland for free and one of the best education in the world. It is not simple. You're either weak or you can handle it.

I'm really proud that I had the chance to study here. The level of linguistic, mathematical, physical and legal training is unlikely to compare even with MGIMO and Moscow State University. Legendary personalities teach at the Academy, which, unfortunately, I cannot tell you about. Some of them were awarded the Order of Hero of the Soviet Union and Hero of Russia. Many subjects are taught in special classrooms from which nothing can be taken out - no notes, no pens. Everything they teach there is top secret. The Academy has very strong legal training. True, you need to be prepared for it - during lectures, students usually write 30–40 pages.

Mikhail's friend was right - the girls in our department are special students. Intelligent, reserved, with excellent physical fitness. Many find their soul mates here. For example, I got married as soon as I received my diploma. It is known that the scholarship at the Academy is huge compared to civilian universities - about 15 thousand rubles per month. But please, there is no need to compare us with a citizen. At the Academy you are at work and hard work from 7 am to evening. This is a strong emotional pressure every day. In my opinion, our scholarship is even too small.

Important: it is not advisable to display your AFSB student status on social networks. Yes, and spread the word about it to your friends too. After receiving your diploma, you spend 5 years in the service of the Fatherland. From Moscow they are often sent to serve in Rostov and Volgograd. There is also service in hot spots. If we get lucky. It turns out that you can spend 10 years side by side with your classmates. This happened to me too. During this time, I found faithful colleagues and devoted friends.

In civilian life, the concept of a “devoted heart” is not entirely understood. With my friends, I experienced misfortune, poverty, and attended all their weddings. They have helped me out many times. If any of them have difficulties, I am ready to fly to their place of duty the next day. Now the fate of my friends has developed differently. Some continue to serve, some moved to Alpha, some, like me, took up legal civil service. There were no problems with employment - with an AFSB diploma, they hired me for a good position even without an interview. Why didn't I continue my service? Disappointed in the system. Understand that 90% of the organs are incredibly worthy, patriotic, gifted people. They are the color of the country. But there are 10% of corrupt officials. It’s probably like this everywhere, but I couldn’t bear it.
