The diagnosis of “terminal gastric cancer with metastases,” according to Volozh, was made to Segalovich in September last year. Ilya’s parents are talented geologists; his father discovered large deposits of chromites. It was because of their work that they moved from Nizhny Novgorod to Alma-Ata.
