Dampness

- When leaving the water or in the rain and then while driving, water splashes fly off you. This option depends on how much you were dressed before getting wet. When leaving the water, you can hear the sound of running down.
- Spray stops when going under the roof (under the bridge, canopy, etc.)
Reduced visibility in the rain
- Raindrops can run down your face and into your eyes, intermittently reducing visibility.

Hoods

- From rain and storms you can hide under a canopy. The glare effect is disabled.
Wet feet
- After getting into rain or water for 10 seconds, you hear squelching when you step

Breath and steam
- in cold places and regions, steam comes out of the mouth, as usual in winter. And in some places, like the tundra and swamps, breath steam is visible at night when it gets colder.
- animal races also breathe with a cloud of steam, but a slightly different shape. Nose breathing differs in interval from mouth breathing, which occurs when people talk or shout in combat.
- breathing steam also comes from animals, giants and other creatures that breathe. - check your breath after entering a cave or other place - if there is steam, it is unlikely that people live there.
- disabled when someone is dead or swimming
- hostile vampires and undead in general do not have breath steam, the Falmer do. Non-hostile vampires have breath steam.
- From the body after bathing in ice water steam is coming

Strong wind, storms
Strong wind
- if you are caught in a blizzard, i.e. snowy weather with winds faster than 0.5 units, both you and the NPC receive a movement speed penalty of 15%
- the sound of the wind is increased during a snow storm and in the mountains
Blinded by snow
- A blizzard prevents you from looking and periodically blinds your eyes. Walk with your head down, just make sure you don't bump into anything. (Disabled by default for the player)
- NPC blizzard interferes with looking and aiming.
Snow
- After a blizzard or swimming in icy water, you are covered with snow and frost.
- In cold regions, the corpses are covered with frost.
Home
- Residents of villages and cities go home in a snow storm, and if they live far away, then go to a tavern. Guards and beggars remain in the streets.
Warm clothes
- if SKSE 1.6.5+ is installed and running, in cold regions, residents, with the exception of beggars, wear fur hoods and mittens if their slots are free. Nords, due to their resistance to cold, can only wear their warm clothes at night. Supported mod with warm raincoats Winter coming - if it is active, then there is a chance that the actors will wear raincoats from it

Solstheim, ash storms
Dampness and cold
The cold regions of Solstheim are defined by the Damp and Cold mod and use all its options for cold regions.
Ash Storms
Solstheim has three types of weather. The effect of a storm in the Raven Rock, protected by walls, and outside the city is different. Accordingly, in the city the effects are minimized.
Ash protection
Residents of Solstheim have special face scarves and even goggles that they wear during an ash storm if the slots for them are not occupied. After the storm, the headscarves are not removed at once by everyone, but within a few minutes randomly in turn.
Companions do the same. To disable this option for selected companions, prepare Ash Berries in a cauldron and put them in inventory.
Scarves and glasses use slot 44.
dustiness
After and during the storm you will look dusty. This effect will go away on its own, or if you get caught in the rain or go swimming. Rain will wash away dust if dazzle or splash effects are enabled in the Damp and Cold mod.
watery eyes
If you do not lower your face during an ash storm and do not cover it with goggles or a helmet, your eyes will begin to water.

satellites
A special menu includes options for companions - putting on hoods and warm clothes. Now you can cook special cold berries and damp berries in the cauldron, which will turn off all settings for the companion, which is in the inventory. if you have multiple satellites, this will allow you to leave the settings for some and disable for others. Snowberries required.

Setup and Compatibility
Optional: SKSE 1.6.5+
SKSE is required for the functioning of the equipment and setting up the mod through the MKM.

Optional: SkyUI 3.0+
The mod can be configured through the MCM menu.

Optional: Dampness and Cold - Ashes

Optional: Campfire - Complete Camping System
Additional backpacks can be equipped by wandering NPCs as part of their survival gear.

Optional: Winter Is Coming - Cloaks
If one of the main plugins is installed, NPCs will equip additional fur cloaks as part of Damp and Cold.

Optional: iNeed - Food Water and Sleep
Food spoilage and snow melt slow down in cold weather. Wandering NPCs may carry waterskins as part of their survival gear.

Optional: Cloaks of Skyrim
If one of the main plugins is installed, NPCs will equip additional linen/rawhide cloaks as part of their rainproof gear.

If Frostfall 2.0+ is installed, the dripping and splashing option from Damp and Cold will be disabled.
If Get Snowy is set, then the snow effect from Damp and Cold will be disabled.
If Convenient Horses is installed, your companion horses will not spray and will not breathe unless you use console command setghost 0 on each of them.
The mod adds effects dynamically, so it should work with any NPC in any location (DLC, new lands, new settlements, etc.) excluding cold functions. Although cold features are added automatically, mods or DLCs with new regions or creations may require manual intervention.
Cold effects have been added for Dawnguard, Dragonborn (requires Wet and Cold - Ashes) and Wyrmstooth creatures and locations.

Installing the mod
Automatic:
Use Nexus Mod Manager or similar program to automatically install the mod.

Manual installation:
1. Place the files from the Core archive into the Skyrim folder (located at: Your drive:\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim) and confirm the replacement of the files (if required).
2. In the game launcher, go to the item "Files" (Data Files) and activate the necessary plugins.

In the folder "10 Ashes"
WetandCold - Ashes add-on for Dragonborn, adding cold and ash effects to Solstheim.

In the folder "High Res Fur Cloaks"
The default texture resolution for the wanderer's fur cloaks is 1024x1024. This option increases the resolution to 2048x2048.

In the "Multi-Monitor Drips Texture" folder
Users of multiple monitors at the same time get a fuzzy wet picture. These textures should compensate for defects.

In the folder "22 Modded Children Hat Meshes"
If you have the Xvision Children mod installed, the fur hoods and party hats in this pack adapt to its head models.

About add-ons:
. The mod is no longer part of Dampness and Cold, now it is a separate modification, you can find the new version on the corresponding page.

What's new in version 2.02 ()

  • Fixed an issue with standard AI greeting packages that could result in broken quests.
  • Fixed an issue where NPCs could equip fur hoods even when the head equip slot was full.
  • Fixed an issue where the wet feet effect could hang on the player after swimming indoors. Disabling the mod, exiting the menu, reconnecting solved this problem.

- If the Winter Coming mod is installed, in the cold, actors can wear raincoats from it.

Setup and Compatibility

- Without Sky UI: You will have an Icicle attunement in your inventory. Use it to enable and disable options. You can also use it to restart scripts if the mod does not work correctly.
- From Sky UI: Press Esc, select Mod Settings and select the Damp and Cold mod.
- Incompatible with Get Wet mod
- If Frostfall is installed, the drop and splash option should only be enabled in one of the mods!
- Mods that change the races of children can combined cause children to be bald or stop running home from the rain (including children being killed).
- A mod that adds citizens must give them a house or other indoor location, otherwise they will remain outside in the rain and storm.
- A mod that adds potential companions should add them to the CurrentFollowerFaction or PlayerBedOwnership factions so that their behavior is not affected.
- Weather mods that do not have a wind speed over 0.5 option will not be detected. Storm options will not work.
- Conflicts with mods affecting AMBrWindMountainGustA and B sound recordings
- All options apply quite flexibly and should work with all NPCs and regions, including new settlements, DLCs, etc. However, mods with new creatures or regions with their own weather must be adjusted manually.
- Steam on breath option supports Dawnguard locations. Support for Dragonborn is possible.
Get Snowy conflicts with this mod. Disable snow in settings if you want to keep it.

Frostfall - Hypothermia Camping Survival
- Dampness and cold perfectly complement this mod, adding charm to survival. Compatible with things from it. Now the actors who are going to wander, outside the cities and villages use backpacks, and with this mod - randomly all sorts of camping things.

Open Faced Guard Helmets
- Useful if ugly breath artifacts occur on helmeted guards.

Brawl Bugs Patch
- Some of the features of this mod have already been added here, it can help if there are other problems.

Unofficial Skyrim Patch, Unofficial Dawnguard Patch, Unofficial Hearthfire Patch
- General bug fixes that improve all aspects of the game, for better work and stability

Possible bugs

- If you are having problems with FPC, scenes/quests due to NPCs going home in bad weather, wait for the rain and storm to end, or just disable this option in the settings, temporarily or permanently.
- If for some reason the NPC has grown together with a hood or gloves and does not want to take it off, open the console, click on it and type resurrect. This will reset the poor fellow and he will be dressed in his usual things.
- If you see script errors, then most likely you didn’t connect something somewhere. If they do not repeat, hanging your system, then everything is in order.

Mod update

When installing a new version and loading a save, you will see a message in the left corner of the screen that the mod has been updated. Take out the Settings Icicle and choose to restart the mod. You can save and re-enter the game to "refresh" the world. When using Sky UI, there will be NO ice, restart through the MCM menu.
The mod contains the archive bsa. Might not work with a pirate. Then unpack it and drop the scripts from the scripts folder in the archive into the mod and confirm the replacement.

Description:

This mod adds weather-dependent visual effects and NPC AI enhancements. All features related to the visual effects apply to all actors unless otherwise stated. Some features require SKSE to function.

Drips (2): Water drips from body parts during rain and after swimming.

Soggy Feet: A light splash sound effect and splash particles play from each footstep when it's raining and after swimming. Does not work on creatures.

Rain Blind: Rain drops will blind you periodically while looking up.

Breaths: Breathe out visible moisture from the nose and mouth in frigid regions (snowy/coastal) and less visible moisture in the tundra/marsh regions at night. Breaths from the nose appear in steady intervals while breaths from the mouth become visible while talking (NPCs only), running, sprinting or fighting. Creatures currently supported: giants, horses, dogs, huskies, wolves, bears, (Vale) sabrecats, falmer, werewolves/bears, trolls, dragons, cows, hagravens, lurkers, boars and rieklings. Breaths will not appear if the actor is a vampire.

Snowy: Snow will accumulate on hair and armor during snow fall. This effect will also appear over the whole body after swimming in a cold region.

Strong Winds: If caught in a blizzard (weather classification: snowy and wind speed > 0.5) you and all nearby NPCs will receive a 15% reduction in movement speed if out in the open. Wind sound volume has also been increased during a blizzard and in mountainous regions.

Blizzard Blind: Disabled by default for the player. Snow will blind you periodically during a blizzard. Keep your face down or move under a shelter to avoid. NPCs are blinded making it more difficult for them to detect targets.

Rain: Civilian NPCs will return to their homes once it starts raining. Adults will walk briskly. Children will run. Argonians, beggars and working class NPCs will remain outdoors.

Blizzard: Most civilian NPCs will walk briskly to their homes when a blizzard starts.

If an NPC doesn't live nearby, he/she will go to an inn.

Rain: All NPCs except Argonians and beggars may equip hoods and cloaks during rain if their slots are free.

Cold: All NPCs except beggars may equip fur hoods, cloaks and gloves in cold regions if their slots are free. If Wet and Cold - Ashes is installed, they may also equip face covers. Equip chance of face covers depends on the time of day, weather conditions and if the NPC is a traveler. Due to their incredible resistance to the cold, Nords are more likely to equip their Cold Gear at night.

Survival: All NPCs except followers may equip backpacks while traveling outside of villages and cities if their slots are free. Leather knapsacks will auto-adjust to fur cloaks to prevent clipping upon unequipping/equipping.

Equipment specifically from Wet and Cold can only be found on NPCs. If SKSE and SkyUI are installed, you can add equipment to merchant leveled lists through the MCM.

.

Version: 2.2
The plugin adds the ability to realistically display weather conditions on the hero, NPCs, and other creatures. Designed for setting various options for the behavior of the player and characters during rain, snow, in cold regions. Gives people and animals visual effects for more realism.

Mandatory required:
- SKSE - launch the game from it in your Game Library.
- install if there is an add-on Dragonborn.
- (needed only for settings in the MCM menu)

Drops:
- Water drips from the dynamic part of the body during rain and after swimming. The amount of water that drains after bathing depends on whether you are wearing armor or not.
- Pleasant water sound effects after swimming.
- The drops will stop if you take shelter from the rain under bridges, cornices, roofs, etc.
Raindrops:
- If you look up during the rain, you will get a sharp blackout almost immediately - this is the blinking effect when the drops fall into the eyes.
Come back home:
- Some NPCs will go home when it rains. The workers of the NPS will remain in their places. Children will run away from the rain. Argonians and beggars will remain on the street. NPCs not living nearby will go to the tavern.
Rain hood:
- If you have SKSE 1.6.16+ installed, then all NPCs, with the exception of Argonians and beggars, will use hoods when it rains if they have a free slot for it. After the rain, they will not immediately take them off, but only after a couple of minutes.
Cold breath:
- The closer you are to a cold region, the more you will see the evaporation from exhalation.
- Breathing is also supported by animals both from the mouth and from the nose. During a conversation with the NPC, evaporation will be more often seen.
- Breathing adapted for each type of creatures. Creatures currently supported: Giants, horses, dogs, wolves, bears, sabertooths, Falmer, werewolves, and trolls.
- Check your breath after entering an unknown dungeon in a cold region - this is a hint of what lies ahead. If it is cold enough and breathing is clearly visible, then it is unlikely that NPCs live further.
Strong winds:
- If you are caught in a snowstorm (weather classification: snow and wind speed > 0.5), then all nearby NPCs will have their movement speed reduced by 15%.
- The soundtrack of the blizzard has been increased in the surroundings and mountainous areas.
Blizzard Blur:
- Snow will periodically dazzle the eye, i.е. some blurring will be visible - this gives realism, because in a blizzard it is difficult to move.
- NPCs are more difficult to detect targets during a snowstorm, i.e. it will not be so easy for the enemy ahead to notice you, unlike the usual situation.

File Description
Adds the ability to realistically display weather conditions on the hero, NPC, and other creatures.

Update:

The Companions were not equipped with a fur hood. This has been fixed.

Improved breathing: the frequency of all breaths became less frequent, but their duration increased.
Improved NPC equip speed so that NPCs are more likely to be properly equipped right after you leave an interior. (I don't know exactly how to translate)
Ghosts and summons should no longer breathe.
Companion warm clothes and rain hood are now enabled by default.
A drop from the rain is now a little more.
Fixed issue where certain interiors would sometimes be treated as exteriors. (I don't know exactly how to translate)
Fixed R03;R03;problem with NPCs and companions equipping rain hoods. Companions and non-city dwellers like farmers will no longer be equipped with hoods.
Fixed MSM from resetting to default if this mod is set to Frostfall 2.0.
Wearing light and heavy armor NPCs will be able to equip an armored fur hood, if crafted, the Winter Is Coming mod must be installed.
NPCs will now automatically take off their fur coats while sitting and put them back on after they stand up. This should prevent ugly texture conflicts. Note: When using crafting, it will sometimes be considered that you are "sitting" in the game.
Added moisture shaders to the skin after bathing, which lasts 45 seconds.
Added R03;R03;option to force workers to return home when it rains.
Added breath support for hauntings, huskies, sabertooths, cows and werewolf transformation.
Added compatibility with mods that change the race of children (Killable Children and Xvision Children are currently compatible).
Common scripts are optimized.

For example:
It's raining, look up into the sky and you'll see a momentary blackout, a feeling that the drops get in your eyes and you blink. Drops are also visible on the body and clothes. At the same time, if possible, NPCs put on a rain hood or some go home. The ability to see cold breath from your hero, NPC or creatures is also implemented. Also, when you get into a snow storm, your eyes begin to swim at some points, thereby showing the real situation when the storm really blinds your path. In addition, you will see how NPCs and creatures will be covered in snow from severe weather conditions (if you install another mod). Most NPCs will go to their homes and wear a fur hood and gloves in case of a snow storm. In addition, the storm will also prevent the NPCs from noticing you.
