Ryazan Flight Academy. Sasovo Flight School of Civil Aviation named after G.A.

The Sasovo Civil Aviation Flight School is located in the Ryazan region and is a secondary aviation educational institution. The school is a branch of the Ulyanovsk Institute of Civil Aviation.

In 1943, a flight school was founded in the city of Isilkul, Omsk Region, where the initial training of pilots of the civil air fleet was carried out. The school was formed on the basis of the air squadrons of Isilkul and Yanaul with the involvement of flight personnel. In 1945 she was relocated to Sasovo. In 1949, for his services to the Fatherland in the training of young pilots Grigory Alekseevich Taran, his name was given to the Sasovo Flight School of the Civil Air Fleet.

The Soviet years were the heyday of the school. During this period, he was unofficially called "court" due to the fact that the Servant of Civil Aviation was located not far from Moscow. The high level of teaching made it possible to train qualified specialists who were valued throughout the country. In addition, the school actively trained foreign cadets.

The training process was conducted on an extensive range of aircraft and helicopters, allowing the release of diversified specialists in piloting.

After the collapse Soviet Union The school was in real decline. The aviation crisis during this period affected and educational institutions. Due to lack of funding, there was an outflow of students, the number of which was only twenty people. There was a catastrophic lack of fuel for refueling aircraft, as well as experienced instructors.

An important step towards restoring the former name of the school was its merger with the Ulyanovsk Institute of Civil Aviation in 2009. Since then and to the present, the Servant of Civil Aviation has been its branch. In 2012, a new concrete runway was built at the school, and in 2014 the canteen building for cadets was reconstructed. Today, the Servant of Civil Aviation is confidently increasing the number of applicants every year and is training personnel on modern simulators.

History and traditions

The development of Russian (and then Soviet) aviation has come a long and glorious path. Considering the circumstances in which the young soviet republic at the dawn of its existence, the requirements for the rapid organization and development of the air force, as well as mass training pilots led to the rapid growth of flight schools.

Starting with the famous OSOAVIAKhIM, which trained young pilots on the job and went to school, the Soviet Air Force received several military aviation flight schools in Russia and other republics a year. And this trend continued as before the Great Patriotic War, both during and after it. The maximum number of flight schools at a certain point reached 69 - while preparing not only pilots, but also technical personnel. However, due to the serious complication of not only the level of knowledge required from a military pilot, but also many other qualities associated with the ability to make quick decisions and other conditions, already in modern Russia it was decided to leave the training of specialists at the level of secondary education only for civil aviation.

Nevertheless, the military flight schools of Russia during 2008-2009 were completely reorganized, with the creation of a single managerial central "core" on the basis of the Voronezh Air Force Academy named after Yu.A. Gagarin and N.E. Zhukovsky. Received at the same time the name of the military scientific and educational center of the Air Force Russian Federation and together with it - all the existing institutes and schools in the form of their own faculties, with various military areas of training. Except, of course, the already mentioned schools of civil aviation and DOSAAF.

School choice

When choosing a military flight school, of course, one should take into account, first of all, its military orientation. Since the professions of a pilot and a navigator are still different, just as there are considerable differences between a fighter pilot and a long-range aviation pilot. But, long before deciding to enter the chosen school, some other things should be carefully weighed. Among which, a good future pilot must have:

  • excellent state of health (unfortunately, not everyone can become a pilot);
  • very high average performance in general subjects;
  • the highest level of stress resistance;
  • willingness to work in a team;
  • the absence of "rose-colored glasses" - in terms of the idea of the future service, as a romantic flight through the blue sky.

I started writing this post several times, but could not finish it, and when I finished it, I took it and deleted it. It seemed so boring to me that, it seems to me, at that moment I realized that writing deeply informational posts, with figures, facts and useful information- that's not mine. Therefore, for all useful information, please contact the Internet, and I will write as best I can. Go.

I have wanted to visit the Sasovo Flight School for a very long time. I can’t even count how many times I drove past the SASOVO sign on the way from Moscow to Ulyanovsk and back, and each time the steering wheel almost turned, but each time the thought cooled: “Well, I’ll come, well, I’ll look from behind the fence, and then that they won't let you go anywhere anyway." And with that thought, I drove by.

But, as I already wrote on the pages of this magazine, now two guys are studying in Sasovo, who at the age of 30 decided to radically change their lives and still make their childhood dream come true, the dream of flying. And my LiveJournal, and myself, became some part of the catalyst for this venture. And when one of them suggested that I organize a visit to the school, of course I answered "Yes."

The approval process was long and complicated, because there were a lot of factors that had to line up in a consistent row. And that, and that, and the fifth, and the tenth ... But in the end, the day was appointed, and having ordered two days off in a row in advance, I went to bed waiting for tomorrow.

Tomorrow came very quickly - it was necessary to have time to escape from Moscow before the morning traffic jams and had to get up at three in the morning. I “flew” unnoticed to Ryazan, but I had to push trucks around on the bypass road and the realization of Sasovo’s not so close proximity to the capital came precisely there, but once again escaping onto a free road, this feeling left me, lemon steam of tea rose up in the cup holder, toffee wrapper crunched in her hands, the speakers played with the voice of Bon Jovi:

Yeah, I will love you
Baby-Always
And I'll be there forever and a day -
Always

And again everything was fine and the road again ran merrily under the wheels.

The treasured pointer soon appeared, and now I’m definitely there! Danil met me at the checkpoint/traffic and parked the car, we went to check in. The school provides good rooms for guests / parents of cadets, where I settled down. Unfortunately, I deleted the photo of the room, but it was quite sane, all the more so, I only needed to spend the night there, and he completed this mission 100%.

Our tour started from the KDP (control tower). What is very good in Sasovo is that the airfield is literally located behind the fence of the training unit. And, as it seems to me, airplanes flying outside the audience window are the best motivation to study, even when something doesn’t work out or doesn’t give in and patience is at the limit. There is no such motivation in the Ulyanovsk school, because the airfield is far away from the city. Yes, and it's just convenient - the first flight change starts early and in Ulyanovsk I had to add time to travel to the airfield.

This is the inscription that meets everyone who is in front of the door of the control tower. ;)

There are no cadets flying today, but the L-410 is expected to arrive from Krasny Kut.

The tower offers good views of the airfield and aircraft

Go around the building from the other side

Well, now let's see how the cadets live.

This building is informally called the "skull" and is where freshmen live.

And this is how the first course lives. Barracks. In Ulyanovsk conditions are less spartan. In this regard, the girls - cadets are more fortunate, they initially live in a separate hostel.

Everything is military.

The dryer is one for all, of course.

Senior students move to more comfortable conditions. And the guys no longer live in the barracks with +100500 people, but in rooms of 4-6 people. Let's take a walk to their location.

At the entrance we will be met by a cabinet for the orderly. ;) Just kidding, of course, we will be met by the orderly, in our case, he was just embarrassed to be photographed. ;)

And there is even a TV. Daniel, smile! ;)

Well, here is the home of one of my two heroes.

Quite comfortable.

Very correct words, and just in the theme of the whole atmosphere.

All your suspicions of PR are groundless. ;)

In my years as a cadet, I did not have "internets". Why is there the Internet, I didn’t even have a computer.

Well, now let's look at where the cadets study.

The school bears the name of this great aviator.

Now not all young people know the smell of the library, but I know it well and remember it very well. ;)

Well, now the training complex is next in line.

Classes for theoretical training and passing tests in front of the simulator.

The place of the teacher-instructor.

Yak-18T simulator. AT this moment The Yak-18 does not yet fly in the school and Cessna is used as an initial training aircraft.

This is a serious type - L-410. Now the crew of the Orenburg airline is undergoing training here. Let's not disturb them, they'll finish soon and we'll be back. We even fly.

Simulator training class on An-2.

What? ;) Like? ;)

Instructor position.

So, as I promised, let's get back to the L-410 simulator.

Instructor's place.

Ahhh, beauty!

I took off from the airfield Ulyanovsk Central and jumped over the Volga, came in to land on Ulyanovsk Vostochny. Anticipating your questions, I will immediately answer: none difficulties with the helm and trimming I didn't test the plane. This is an AIRCRAFT, he himself (!) flies. ;) All the help of the instructor who was with us consisted only in voicing the speeds at which you can release mechanization and what speeds to withstand for entry and for flying along the route. These speeds are written in the L-410 manual and I could not know them.

We landed, taxied, swept around the airfield, looked at the drawing of the details of the airfield, by the way, even the aviation museum, which is located at the airfield in Ulyanovsk, is partially drawn.

Now, according to all the rules of large-scale aviation, we change roles and now the pilot is Danil and he is taking us back. ;)

Despite the fact that Danil had not yet flown at all, even on a Cessna, with our little tips, he came in for a landing and performed it quite well. There is a grip - it will fly!

Trainer Cessna.

We spent the first half of the next day in the hostel with the guys and chatted about this and that under pu-erh with jam.

Here they are future captains of aircraft! Well, except for the dog, of course! ;) Let's fly guys!

Well, after dinner, with a feeling of complete satisfaction, I headed for Moscow. Fate gave me a whole day, during which I was again able to "become" a cadet, breathe in the smell of books on aerodynamics and remember the taste of cadet borscht, and this, my friends, is a very special atmosphere. Dani, thank you for this!

To be honest, I don't even know how to end this post. Let me put it this way: it was a small happiness understandable to a few, and these words will be the most correct. Thank you for your attention.

The school's debt on aircraft flying time is already more than four thousand hours. Over the past few months, a huge number of meetings, meetings and discussions on this issue have been held inside the school, as well as in higher-ranking organizations, such as the Federal Air Transport Agency, the Ministry of Transport, but so far there has been no full answer or decision on this issue. has been received.

It is high time to make this problem public, as the bodies and people responsible for solving these issues do not want to take responsibility, although this is their direct responsibility. Representatives of the governing bodies only "shrug their hands" and shift the responsibility for resolving our issue to other persons. In fact, the school is completely ready for the resumption of flights, the planes are in excellent condition, but this is not possible without the permission of higher authorities, why no one really knows why permission has not been received.

If you are interested in this issue as a material for reporting, tell me how to contact you further for more complete disclosure of information and clarification of details, we have written only superficial information.”

* * *

Times go by but nothing changes. In the 90s, the departure debt reached 6 or even more (!) Years. This is not nothing good- practice should take place immediately (or in parallel) with theory, otherwise there is very little sense, especially given our stupid reality, in which, even in the absence of debts for departure, graduates still have to finish learning what they should know as license holders.

If, after the end of the theoretical program, cadets are sent home for several years, and then they are collected in order to “roll back” the program “around the airfield” for three months ... And if this graduate still has to poke at the doors of airlines for a year or two Well they want at least Aeroflot to start), then, Lord! What quality of pilots and flight safety can we talk about?
