Suramar catacombs and quarter of stars. World of Warcraft: An overview of the Catacombs of Suramar and the Quarter of Stars

Hello, dear readers of the portal site! This guide will walk you through all the features of the new "Rogue-like" single player mode in Hearthstone. It will describe how best to complete the dungeon with all classes, show a list of bosses, treasures, as well as tips and life hacks on how to win with all classes and get an exclusive card back!

Walk in the dungeon is a new solo game mode introduced in the Kobolds and Catacombs expansion. Thanks to its features - increasing difficulty and permanent death - this PvE mode will be a difficult (but free) task for players.

Dungeon crawling is completely free and offers players many tools and maps to fully enjoy.

What is "Rogue-like"?

For those not in the know, a "rogue-like" (or "roguelike") is a type of RPG game that can be described as running a dungeon with changing levels, each time different for all players. Typically, these types of games contain a fantasy story that was heavily influenced by predecessor board games like Dungeons and Dragons. In roguelikes, the player controls a character, collects loot, and also risks dying forever during his adventure.

By taking players on a Dungeon Run, Hearthstone hopes to replicate some of the common features of popular roguelike games while retaining many of the mechanics that players expect to see.

Battle in the Dungeon

At the beginning of the Dungeon Run, players are asked to choose a class, which is given a basic set of 10 cards. During their adventure, players will fight their way through 8 bosses, randomly dropping out of the total pool of as many as 48 pieces. Each boss has a unique hero power and their own assortment of cards and mechanics. This variability allows players to complete a unique playthrough that will change with each new attempt.

Difficulty increase

Players will fight one boss at a time. As you progress, the bosses you will have to face will become more and more difficult. At first they will be very easy to defeat, but in the later stages you will have to use both powerful cards and cunning strategies. The final boss of the Dungeon Run is a very difficult target for brave players who have made it far.

permanent death

As with any other dungeon journey, a failed attempt leads to death! In the new mode, this means that the player's deck and progress will be instantly lost, and he or she will have to start a new Journey.

There are no full details for each boss yet, but their names, hero powers, and some of the features that we managed to find out, read below.

It turns out that bosses can have different hero powers depending on the level at which you meet them!

P.S. Since it is not possible to accurately verify (yet) all the descriptions and names of the bosses, the names will be in English, and the descriptions will be approximate.

List of final bosses

If you can make it to the very end of the dungeon, you will encounter one of the five final bosses! The list is incomplete.

King of the Toothless

The Whirlwind King is one of the final bosses of the Dungeon Run. He starts the game with 2 mana crystals, so on his next turn (3 mana), he will immediately be able to use the hero power. His hero power generates one of the treasures you saw when you went through the dungeon. Also, at some point, he will play the Rakanishu card (this is the elemental that sits in the lantern on the top of his head). The card deals 4 damage to a random enemy.

Azari Devourer

Dark

Woostraz the Ancient

Evil Invincible

Evil has several rays, these are the ones that are known now:

  • Beam of Confusion: Take control of a random enemy minion.
  • Death ray: Destroy all enemy creatures with less than full health.
  • Decay Ray: Destroy 1 enemy mana crystal.
  • Ray of fear: Shuffle a random enemy minion into your opponent's deck.
  • Freeze Beam: Freeze a random enemy creature and creatures near it.

As you will see in the video below, Zol uses the Warlock Discard deck. Freeze Mage/Spell Mage looks like one of the best decks against this final boss.

Choose a reward

After defeating the boss, players will be given the opportunity to choose new cards to strengthen their deck. The cards are offered in three different themed packs designed to interact with the player's class. Each class has a variety of spells, creatures, and combinations to choose from.

Choosing a set increases the chances that a similar set will be offered again, allowing you to build a strong deck with certain synergies to take on the more difficult bosses that players will encounter in the later stages.

Like bosses, the rewards offered will be different each run, providing players with a unique experience each time they start a Dungeon Run.

Parts of Quel'Delar

It seems you can put together two parts of Quel'Delar and get a complete sword that looks like this (the image belongs to the Reddit user who put it together!):

There are two pieces of the sword that you can get in your treasure options: Hilt of Quel'Delar and Blade of Quel'Delar!

Dungeon Rewards

Sometimes players unlock powerful treasure cards that are unique to the Dungeon Run. These treasures are frankly strong and will not be able to get into your collection of cards. However, they can provide players with enough power to defeat the final boss.

Treasures with a passive effect

Treasures with a passive effect give players a permanent advantage from the start of every game. These treasures range from upgrading (like Mariel Trueheart) or weakening a hero's power to granting all creatures +1/+1 (like Prince Keleseth).

  • Battle totem- passive. War cries work twice.
  • Captured flag- passive. Your creatures get +1/+1
  • Invisibility cloak- passive. Your creatures have permanent Stealth.
  • Ring of Mariel- passive. Your Hero Power is upgraded and costs (1).
  • Khadgar's Divination Orb- passive. Your spells cost (1) less.
  • Guard symbol- passive. Enemy creatures cost (1) more.
  • Mysterious Tome- passive. At the start of a match, you play 3 secrets at random.
  • Vitality Potion- passive. Doubles your health at the start of a match.
  • Scepter of Summoning- passive. Your creatures for (5) or more cost (5).
  • Backpacks- passive. At the start of a match, you draw 2 cards.

Treasures with active effect

The rest of the treasure pieces are added to the player's deck like any other card. However, for their cost, they have an absurd level of power. When used, these treasure cards can quickly turn the outcome of a match in the player's favor. They include completely new mechanics: stealing cards directly from the opponent's hands and recruiting creatures.

  • Amulet of Dominance(2 mana) - Gain control of an enemy minion and add this card to your Dungeon deck.
  • Coin pouch(0 Mana) - Fills your hand with Coins.
  • boots(1 Mana) - Your minions cost (0) this turn.
  • Dr. Boom's Boombox(4 Mana) - Summons 7 Explosion Bots.
  • Embers of Ragnaros(3 Mana) - Fires three fireballs at random enemies, dealing 8 damage. damage.
  • Robber's Gloves(1 mana) - You steal 3 cards from your opponent's hand.
  • golden kobold(3 mana - 6 attack - 6 health) - provocation. Battlecry: Replaces cards in your hand with legendary creatures.
  • Pickaxe of Greed(2 mana - 3 attacks - 2 durability) - after your hero attacks, you get an empty mana crystal.
  • Horn of Cenarius(2 mana) - You recruit 3 creatures.
  • Portable ice wall(1 mana - 3 attacks - 15 health) - provocation. Cannot attack. Freezes any character it damages.

  • Hourglass(7 Mana) - You take an extra turn. Costs (1) less for each boss you've defeated on this run.

  • There are 4 difficulties available: Normal, Heroic, Mythic, and Mythic+ (the last three are only available at level 110).
  • The total number of dungeons for 5 people is 10 pieces. 4 of them are available during leveling, 9 are available in Mythic+ mode. The two dungeons in Suramar are only available on Mythic difficulty and require certain conditions to be met in order to enter them.
  • Thanks to new mechanics players of different levels can play the same dungeon and feel like they deal the same amount of damage.
  • Loot levels in dungeons at level 110:
    • Normal - 810
    • Heroic - 825
    • Mythic - 840
  • All equipment can drop with Battle Forged (+5-15 levels) or Titan Forged (+20 or more levels) upgrades, which increases its level.
  • To queue up for heroic, middle level items on the character must be at least 810.
  • Some send players to the Legion dungeons to deal with rare monsters.
  • For the achievement Glory of the Legion Hero you can get the mount: Reins of the Hippogryph with Arcane Plumage (check out our guides: mount guide and Glory of the Legion guide).
  • Mythic+ mode is a replacement for the challenge mode from previous World of Warcraft expansions. This mode is intended for the most skilled players.
  • There is a progressive difficulty scale for the E+ mode, when special abilities and effects are added to the monsters in the dungeon - such effects change every week and can affect the optimal class and specialization setup for passing the dungeon.

Loot system in Legion dungeons

In WOW Legion the developers brought back the traditional loot system- Loot from bosses will no longer be repeated in different dungeons. All normals are now level-flexible (just like Legion locations, they adjust to the player's level).

For normals at level 110, the standard item level is 810, for heroics it is 825, for mythic dungeons it is 840.

Through the system of “battle-hardened” things, the maximum level of items at the start of the Legion is 850. The same items can also be obtained for completing world quests.

Entry Conditions (Suramar)

To enter the Catacombs of Suramar and the Quarter of Stars, certain conditions must be met. E These dungeons are only available on E and E+ difficulty, but in them you can get two sets with special effects.

  • Reach 8000/12000 Reputation with the Nightfallen faction.
  • Complete the Darkened But Not Forgotten achievement, and complete the "Moonlight Twilight" and "Blood and Wine" steps in the Good Suramaritan achievement.
  • Complete the Political Art step by giving Arluin two separate bribes of 800 and 1200 Ancient Mana (read where to get Ancient Mana in WOW)
  • Complete the quest Friends to good use.

Legion Dungeon Rewards

You can receive the following rewards:

  • Glory of the Legion Hero gives a total of 290 Achievement Points + the Arcane Plumage Hippogryph mount.
  • Completing the first Heroic of the week grants Greater Adventurer Glory.
  • For the Poor Unfortunate Souls achievement in the Maw of Souls, you can get a Quicksand pet (see List of all Legion pets).
  • Most Legion professions have quests that send the player into dungeons for higher recipe ranks.
  • Each dungeon drops recipes for professions, as well as the Blood of Sargeras (read how to get the Blood of Sargeras in WOW)

World Quests

Among the world quests there are those that send the player to one of the Legion dungeons. In addition to equipment, these quests grant reputation with a particular Broken Isles faction.

For example, Neltharion's Treasure gives reputation with the Highmountain Tribes, and to complete it, you need to find a rare monster and kill the final boss in Neltharion's Lair.

Mythic+ Mode Reward

Mythic+ mode will open on September 20, from which time it will be possible to obtain keys to this type of dungeon. The main features of this mode:

  • Certain keys unlock progressively more difficult versions of the dungeon. You can improve the key by completing the dungeon within a certain time frame.
  • The loot system is still being developed. AT this moment players receive pieces of equipment that will help them in the battle with the final boss.
  • For the best completed dungeon in one week, you will receive corresponding box with loot and key in your class hall next week. The quality of the loot and the key will depend on the results of the last week.
  • Monsters in E+ dungeons have a specific set of mechanics that change every week. Thus, players will create suitable variations of groups for passing the dungeon this week.
  • There are no restrictions on access to Mythic+ dungeons. The role of restrictions is played by the level and the number of keys that the player can receive.
  • Reaching 1st on the server! The Lord of the Keys from the Rituals of Power category is for the first player on the server to complete a Mythic+ dungeon at least difficulty level 15 within the allotted time.
  • One special artifact skin is unlocked by completing the Lord of the Keys achievement.

Legion raids

  • Emerald Nightmare. Raid consisting of 7 bosses. What the players dreamed about and asked for. He was created by the Titans as the perfect version of Azeroth itself. However, something went wrong and darkness began to consume the world. In the Emerald Nightmare, players will have to walk the line between our reality and the reality of the Emerald Dream, find Cenarius and fight the mighty Xavius.
  • Suramar Palace. Has 10 bosses. The royal elven palace ruled by the Supreme Magister. He made a deal with the Legion, allowing them to use the Pillar of Creation to create the Nightwell. This raid will remind players of the Black Temple. You will start the battles in the catacombs, advancing through the royal quarter and ending with the Well, where you will find Gul'dan. And from here he will not run away, the battle cannot be avoided!

Useful Legion Guides

What do you like about the new dungeons and raids in WOW Legion? What do you think of the Mythic+ dungeon mode?

World of Warcraft in the new Legion expansion has provided new challenges, among which are the dungeons located near the Broken Isles. There are many locations, among which we will stop at the Catacombs of Suramar and the Quarter of Stars.

Massive Catacombs of Suramar

The developers noted that when working on the Suramar dungeon, the best browser games of this genre were taken as the basis, so such locations as Blackrock Depths appeared, which differed in various transitions and nooks and crannies and were colossal in size.

The developers note that there are large-scale catacombs under Suramar, with the help of which it is very easy to create such a location. Here the player is unlikely to encounter random bosses, which is often found in Assault on the Violet Keep. When you enter the dungeon, different doors can open for you: this allows you to diversify the gameplay at times, and the features of passing the corridors also differ.

It is also necessary to mention what a dungeon is, unlike the popular Womb of Souls, not everyone can go through. Such a dungeon can only be completed by a player above level 110. Tip: To increase reputation in Suramar, you need to complete a task in this location. Although Suramar itself is simply huge, but the tunnels under it are still more city, so the area will not be able to pass quickly.

It is impossible to play on your own, you need to enter a group that has already gathered in advance. Both the Catacombs of Suramar and the Quarter of Stars will be of particular interest to advanced Mythic players who lack the thrill.

Mysterious Quarter of Stars

To pass the Quarter of Stars, you need:

Already have a certain reputation in Suramar;

Level not lower than 110;

An epic group.

The developers mentioned that such a dungeon was supposed to be very unusual. The main actions take place in that part of the location where, as a rule, there are no aggressive opponents. An original decision was made: the player gets to a dinner party and all events are focused on a separate period of time. During the invited event, players will have to complete secret tasks, since there are plenty of goals to achieve the result in the location. The developers mention that the inspiration for the creation of the Quarter of Stars was the events associated with the offerings of Gordok in such a familiar location as Dire Maul. Brute force and aggression is not the best option to achieve goals, because it is preferable to use the differences of races, professions and specializations, focusing on tactics and individual characteristics. Try to avoid obstacles in an original way, sometimes you just need observation or communication skills.
