Hyundai n1 automatic transmission diesel consumption. Car "Hyundai H1": description, specifications, reviews

"Hyundai H1" is a minivan a wide range application, which is also known as the First Generation was released in 1996. And the last, second, continues to be produced to this day, starting in 2007.

The very first cars

The history of Korean vans and minivans began in 1987. It was then that they began to produce a model that became known as the Hyundai Grace. And then, 9 years later, Starex cars began to appear. True, Grace also continued to release. Demand was very high, both for one and for the second model.

The most powerful were the 2.5 CRDi LWD versions. These cars were equipped with powerful 140-horsepower engines. And they were produced from 2000 to 2004. A less powerful version was the Starex 2.4 LWD model. Under its hood was a 135-liter engine. And there were also motors producing 110, 100 and 85 hp. The weakest unit was the one whose power was 80 hp.

Interestingly, it was among the first generation that there were all-wheel drive versions. They were available with 110, 100, 140 and 80 hp motors. True, such Hyundai H1 models have not been produced for a long time. disappeared, now there is only the back.

About the second generation

Specifications have not changed much. The turbodiesel 2.5-liter engines remained, which had previously proven themselves excellently. Only they were decided to improve in accordance with modern requirements. As a result, new items for 2007 were offered with 99, 116 and 170 horsepower engines. And there was also a 172 hp gasoline engine.

Also changed the interior of the car. It has become more attractive, practical and ergonomic. The salon is really equipped so that every person feels comfortable in it.

The rear seats can be folded, reclined and moved in a variety of combinations. It will be possible to pick up a successful configuration without problems. The front seats are also very comfortable. In addition to the driver, two more people can be accommodated there.

Looking at the interior, you can immediately understand that the creators identified this car as a 2-zone “climate” is installed inside, there are still sliding windows. And the chairs are adjustable.

Other nuances

You can also say that the second-generation Hyundai H1 car has become more dynamic, unlike models from previous years of production. True, due to the fact that the edge of the hood is too low, some maneuvers are quite difficult to carry out.

The maximum speed to which this car, equipped with a 170-horsepower engine, can accelerate is 183 km / h. The minimum fuel consumption in the city is 11 liters per 100 km. It takes less on the highway - about 7 liters. The fuel tank can be filled with 75 liters of fuel.

At the rear, as well as at the front, disc brakes are installed. Suspension - torsion bar and multi-link. Ground clearance equal to 19 centimeters, not so much for Russia (especially for a minivan), but acceptable. The main thing is to slow down as soon as holes and potholes appear in the field of view.

New model

Those Hyundai H1 cars that were produced in the late 1990s and early 2000s were not available in Russia, since they were not exported to our country. But novelties recent years have already penetrated the local car market. And they became popular. Many people need multifunctional minibuses, but not everyone can afford a minivan from Mercedes-Benz. But more or less budget "Hyundai" - quite.

The design of the novelty turned out to be moderately strict and restrained. The swollen wheel arches and additional stampings in large numbers immediately attract attention. Appearance can be called universal. Such a car will cope with the role of both a family and a company car. It is worth noting that the new Hyundai H1 exists in several body styles, however, only one is offered to Russian buyers - a passenger, 8-seater.

Characteristics of the novelty

A lot of interesting things can be told about what is the main part of the Hyundai car. The new "H1" is offered to potential buyers with three various engines. Among them - two diesel, 2.5-liter. One produces 116 horsepower and the other 170 hp. Also, the car can be equipped with a 2.4-liter gasoline engine. Its power is 174 hp.

The checkpoint can also be selected. A 6-speed "mechanics" and a 5-band "automatic" are available. Despite the fact that this car belongs to the class of minivans, it has good dynamics. The diesel version with "mechanics" accelerates to 100 km / h in just 12 seconds. Although the passport says that for 14.5. However, a test drive showed much more impressive performance. And this is really an excellent result, because the minibus weighs 2.4 tons.

Despite its weight, the car enters corners quite briskly and overtakes ahead of itself. True, there is also a minus of the new Hyundai H1 minivan. Reviews show that the hydraulic booster of this car can not cope with the loads. The steering wheel becomes "heavy" too quickly. And if you move, for example, along a serpentine, then it stops working altogether. In any case, there is such a feeling. But all wheels are equipped with ventilated disc brakes.

What about suspension? The front is independent, equipped with hydraulic telescopic shock absorbers. A multi-link design is installed at the back.

Options and price

The new Hyundai H1 is offered in three trim levels. But the differences relate mainly to the technical plan. What can you say about the equipment? Even in the basic configuration, it is quite rich. There are airbags, ABS, start assist, sliding windows (for rear passengers), adjustable steering column, fog lights and heated front seats.

The cost of this car in new condition is approximately 33 thousand dollars. By the way, if you want to save a little, you can look for offers to sell used cars. The condition of such cars will be practically new, and the cost will be several hundred thousand rubles less.

The South Korean brand put Hyundai Starex small-sized vans into production in 1996. Over the past decades, the model has undergone a number of changes and was produced in a variety of trim levels, Hyundai Starex differed in fuel consumption, engine capabilities and appearance.

Technical data and modifications Hyundai H1

Until 2007, the van was supplied to the market with two engine versions of 2.4 and 2.5 liters. The fuel consumption of the Hyundai Starex H1 made it possible at that time to cover long distances without refueling. A version with a 2.4-liter engine compartment was provided with both all-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive, and the power of such an engine reached 110 horsepower.

Another gasoline engine had 135 horsepower in its arsenal, but the equipment of such a car with all-wheel drive was not provided at the manufacturer's factory. Fuel consumption in these Hyundai Grand Starex versions varies from 11 to 18 liters, on the highway and in the city, respectively.

A 2.5-liter diesel power unit consumes about 8.6 liters of fuel on the highway, and spending in the city increases to 9.3 liters. The appearance of the car has changed somewhat in 2004, but on specifications it had no effect.

Since 2007, second-generation cars have been produced, Hyundai Starex has become more modern, and its appearance has acquired aggressive features. The build quality of the interior has also changed, the interior has been completely updated to meet the new requirements of the market. In terms of technical data, the changes were also not long in coming, so models with a volume of 2.5 liters were no longer produced.

But the 2.4-horsepower unit has accumulated horsepower, now their number has grown to 175, which made it possible to quickly gain cruising speed and feel more confident on the road. The engineers also worked on the efficiency of the engine, now consumption, even in heavy traffic, did not exceed 13.2 liters per 100 km, and on the highway it was reduced to 8.4 liters.

1st generation Hyundai Starex consumption data

The gasoline 2.4 horsepower engine of the Hyundai Starex has the following fuel consumption characteristics:

  • City - 17.5 l / 100 km.
  • Combined cycle - 13.1 l / 100 km.
  • Highway - 10.5 l / 100 km.

For a car with an engine compartment of 2.5 liters. gasoline consumption can be estimated from these data:

  • City - 18.2 l / 100 km.
  • Combined cycle - 13.8 l / 100 km.
  • Highway - 11.4 l / 100 km.

The diesel power unit is more economical and you can calculate the fuel costs of Hyundai Starex per 100 km based on the manufacturer's data:

  • City - 13.2 l / 100.
  • Mixed cycle - 10.1 l / 100.
  • The track is 8.4 l / 100.

Reviews of owners about the consumption of Hyundai Starex 1 generation

  • Vasily, Saratov. I bought a used Hyundai with a fairly high mileage, but for a venerable age, the machine turned out to be very tenacious. There were no large expenses for frequent repairs, for this we should thank not only the care of the previous owner, but also the assemblers of this machine. Consumption for a car produced in 1999 does not differ much from the parameters declared by the plant. On the highway, a 2.5 liter gasoline engine eats no more than 11-12 liters, although in the city costs increase greatly, up to about 18.
  • Gennady, Konstantinovka. I bought a car for fishing trips with friends, the trunk volume is more than sufficient for this, the interior capacity also causes respect. The consumption of diesel fuel per 100 km at the Hyundai Stareks makes me especially happy, because the main part of the journey goes along the free road. On average, my calculations come down to around 9 liters per hundred square meters.

Consumption data 2nd generation Hyundai Starex

Thanks to modern technologies, engineers have managed to significantly reduce fuel consumption, while increasing the power of power units. So Hyundai Stareks with a 2.4 strong engine consumes gasoline, having the following consumption rates:

  • City - 14.5 l / 100.
  • Mixed cycle - 11.1 l / 100.
  • The track is 9.1 l / 100.

The diesel engine also boasts a reduction in fuel consumption:

  • City - 9.0 l / 100.
  • Mixed cycle - 8.1 l / 100.
  • The track is 6.8 l / 100.

Hyundai H1 is a car that does not shine with excellent data, most likely because it worsens the general mood of motorists, who eventually refuse such a unit. I have a 2008 H1, a 2.5 turbo diesel engine, there are not so many horses in it, only 136. It works on a manual gearbox, a body for eight people. In total, this car has been driven for a year, and the first alarm bells have already appeared. I'll try to tell you more about it. While operating it, I noticed that the transverse linkage of the rear axle was loose in the chassis. I will also complain about the hand brake, it's just some kind of fear. If you use it in the winter, then freezing of the cables is not excluded, in the summer it was still all right, but also its troubles. As for fuel, I’ll generally say that you need to think about how to fill it. Because due to the fact that I topped up with poor quality (as they said in the service), exhaust gas sensors flew three times and the car stops starting. And such a breakdown is not repaired under warranty, so it has already been spent pretty much. These are perhaps the most important indicators that not the best thoughts evoke to me. But, however, in order to rehabilitate this brand, I will tell you about the merits. Interior trim, ergonomics, and body quality, plus design, all this can be assessed on a five-point scale. The box works perfectly and debugged, there are no complaints at all. The engine is not afraid of frost, starts under any conditions and works without changes and fatigue. Oil consumes very little, sometimes measurements are difficult to make. These are the indicators for which it is worth loving this car, and if you do not repeat my mistakes, then there will be no problems at all.

I will speak to my heart's content. Hyundai, these are cars that command respect, and if they are still of the Korean assembly, then you can definitely find a rich package there. A topping that everyone will love. Before H1, I had Lantra, which was perfect in many ways, so after the sale I decided to look at the same brand, I didn’t want to change my tastes, and at that moment of searching, I found out that there was a Hyundai H1. I received a lot of good reviews, so I didn’t have to think for a long time. She was already really with improved bodies, which I liked. A springy suspension can be considered a real fairy tale, this is a godsend for our roads. Let me remind you that the equipment is diverse, there is a 2.5 diesel engine with automatic transmission, excellent rubber mats, which are more practical than cloth ones (these are the ones that can be found at the officials). I personally prefer rubber ones, they are better to clean, and in bad weather they fill up less with dirt. The interior is made in leatherette, but decent in quality, easy to care for, and it lasts a long time. Naturally, the car came to us from Korea, but already, accordingly, with mileage, but in perfect condition. In short, I am very impressed with him, we are really lucky! Very roomy, often on it we leave the city, on vacation. Since we live in Moscow, it harmoniously fits into the general structure of the capital. Consumption, though not small, 15 liters in the city, due to traffic jams and related systems. Honestly, sometimes these figures go off scale even higher. Although some experts say that for this class and engine power with its volume, these are the most optimal indicators. The H1 engine is deeply boosted with 136 hp. Because of its size, it is sometimes difficult to overtake a car, and if it is loaded, then you should not strain at all. In the balance of this shortcoming, I will say about sound insulation. It is really worthy of praise, because at speed there is no engine noise at all, or any other noise. Even when you go at speed, you can not always feel it. For example, if you accelerate to 130 km, and therefore suddenly jump to 70 km, you will get the false impression that the car has stopped altogether. Many people say that the most disturbing part in the car is the automatic transmission, but here, on the contrary, it works perfectly. Even at a speed of 130-140 km / h it does not overload the engine and has a clear gear shift. I wrote above about the springy suspension, in terms of stiffness it can be estimated by the average. Such a suspension was originally designed for heavy loads, the transportation of which this car provides. Even at 300 kg, due to this feature, the car does not sink to the ground. I can say with confidence that this minivan is a worthy competitor to all Volkswagens and Mercedes, moreover, at a price five times lower. Cool landing in the seats, firstly, high, very good visibility of the wide windshield. Secondly, the seats are wide and roomy. Thirdly, you don’t get tired in these chairs at all. If, for example, in previous versions, the back quickly began to hurt, although there were a large number of adjustments. Here, everything is completely opposite, it is pleasant after a long time of driving, to realize that during the day the back and lower back were comfortable. As for the seats, the rear row can still be moved or removed, which significantly frees up space for the trunk or bulky luggage. I think that this is generally wonderful, especially for a family that loves to travel, because there are a lot of things that can fit in there. In short, when the car is loaded, the dynamics do not change, both pull and pull. I’ll call the engine cooling system an even bigger plus, this will prevent it from overheating in a hot summer. For five years now, driving this miracle, and I can say that she did not disappoint me. For this entire period serious problems did not have. However, there is one feature that accompanies all machines of this series. Approximately, within two years, the deformation of the front brake discs occurs, this is from a sharp change in temperature (they cool, then heat up). And the final result is already achieved when the brakes begin to hit during heavy braking. Another disease that is characteristic of this machine. The fact is that there is no adjustment of the camber angle of the apron of the wheels, only convergence. That is why, in order to eliminate such a problem as uneven tire wear, one has to face some difficulties. There is something else, this is a slow warming up of the engine and interior in winter, perhaps those factors play that the car is large and not a small car. In addition, very delicate paint on the outside, with careless care, scratches may appear. But the most important thing is that there are no problems with repair and maintenance, everything is available and quickly, there are all consumables. Many of them are easy to find on the Internet, cheap and fast to get.

For three years of operation, I can already say more about this car. Initially, I used the warranty services of MOT, but after I realized that it was much more expensive, I decided to leave such conditions. During this time, I have already dashed off 60 thousand km and am satisfied with what I got, although there are comments. I had to change the front pads, which improved the condition. I use 5w40 oil. I think one of the drawbacks is the rear soft suspension, but it is easy to treat, it is enough to put other springs. I will also complain about the paintwork of the car, it is weak, and in order to wash or clean it from dirt, you need to approach this very carefully. Either make a touchless wash, or wash with a thick sponge with a thick pile. As I found out later, this is a childhood disease of all buses. Everything else satisfies both in work and in appearance. Management is excellent, turns are easy, but speed is important, the dynamics did not decrease even for a moment, there is a lot of comfort. Therefore, who decided to take, just confirm your choice.

Hyundai Grand Stareks H1 is a popular Korean minivan. Thanks to a wide range of modifications, it is a very practical and popular car.
Photo: Hyundai Starex

The debut of the first generation model, which was also called the Hyundai Starex, took place in 1996. To date, the second generation of minivans is already being produced, which were officially introduced in 2007.

Among the main design features of the new Hyundai Starex H1, it is worth noting the following: the body is the main load-bearing element, the car's engine is located longitudinally, and the torque is transferred to the rear axle.

Two engines are available for domestic motorists: a 2.4-liter gasoline aspirated engine with a capacity of 170 horsepower, and a 2.5-liter diesel engine with two power options - 116 and 170 horsepower. It is worth noting that at first the developers planned to make the base engine power 145 hp, but later abandoned their idea.

The motors are equipped with a 5-speed manual, and the same automatic.

Real consumption

The 2.5-liter diesel engine consumes 11.7 liters of fuel in the city, and 8.2 liters on the highway.

Fuel consumption per 100 km of a gasoline engine with a volume of 2.4 is not much different: 13 liters on the highway, and 9 liters in the city.

Reviews

Boris Arkadiev: “I am the owner of the minivan Grand Stareks 2.5 2009 release. I want to say right away that the car is reliable and of high quality, but only if it is properly monitored. After all, the "Koreans" are very capricious, and require special care. Pleased with the high carrying capacity of the car, as well as the spaciousness of the cabin. I think the only drawback high flow, after all, you must admit that 9 liters on the highway for a diesel engine is a bit much.

Oleg Lukin: “Two years ago, my wife and I decided to get a big family car to take our children to their grandparents in the village. It is worth noting that this distance is serious, so the main criterion for choosing was quality and economy. Grand Starex fully complies with the first criterion, but the second, questions began to arise over time. If at first the average consumption was 9.9 liters, then after six months of operation it was already 11 liters. I turned to specialists - specific reasons have not yet been found. ”

Alexander Ramov: “I went to the Citroen C4 and everything suited me, but when the children grew up, something more was needed. Therefore, I took a Hyundai Grand Starex 2002 assembly. Despite an impressive mileage of 165,000 kilometers, the car was in good condition. I think this is a great option for a large family. It can take children to school and go out into nature. Among the shortcomings are the high susceptibility of the body to corrosion and the high cost of spare parts. As for consumption, my minivan consumes about 12 liters of fuel in the city.”

Maxim Nesterov: “When I first heard about the Grand Stareks, I laughed, because I did not believe that such a car could accelerate at least up to a hundred. But when I took it from a friend just to ride, I changed my mind. Therefore, when I decided to take a car for myself, I stopped at Starex 2012 without hesitation. I often ride a van to Europe, where I can fully enjoy the power and dynamism of the car. Fuel consumption in mixed mode - 10.2 liters.

Egor Agutin: “I bought my Hyundai Grand Starex five years ago. Since it was used, the car managed to run over about 30,000 kilometers, but this, apparently, did not appear on his appearance and technical specifications. After the purchase, I immediately decided to remake the salon for a 9-seater. Over the entire period of operation, I dashed off more than 100,000 kilometers, and only changed one of the rear axle bearings. Average fuel consumption is 9.7 liters.”

Oleg Usmanov: “I bought my Starex back in 2009. It has already managed to accumulate 200,000 kilometers, and it continues to be in almost perfect condition. No matter how hard I tried to find the shortcomings of the developers, I did not succeed. As for breakdowns, I only changed consumables a few times. Among the advantages I would like to note a chic interior and excellent handling. Winter consumption in the city - 12 liters.

Alexander Sachuk: “I consider the entire range of Hyundai Grand Starex one of the most successful moves of the Korean company. I myself, personally, ride a 2011 H1. With proper care and maintenance, a minivan can last for many years. Went to the service station only to change the oil and filters. In terms of consumption, my van consumes an average of 9.5 liters of fuel.”

Kirill Priyomov: “The Grand Starex is a great family car. I have been convinced of this for three years now. The wife is happy, the kids are happy. What else is needed? We often load the car and go out into nature. The cabin can comfortably accommodate 5 people. The only drawback I think is a rather weak paintwork. Consumption in the city - 12.8 liters.
