Reduce consumption of Lacetti 1.4. Fuel consumption Chevrolet Lacetti in different trim levels

Chevrolet Lacetti- a compact class C car developed by General Motors. The car entered the assembly line in 2002, and was officially produced until 2014. On the market, Lacetti is widely known in sedan, hatchback and station wagon body versions. The car is the ideological successor to the outdated Nubira model. The design for Lacetti was developed by the Italian studio Pininfarina under the direction of Giorgetto Giugiaro. First, a sedan went on sale, and a year and a half later, the production of a hatchback began. And finally, since 2004, the production of a station wagon has been mastered. The Lacetti's successor is the Chevrolet Cruze, although this is a completely different model. Now Lacetti is produced under the Ravon Gentra brand, which is well known in the Russian market.

Chevrolet Lacetti engines, official gas mileage

  • gasoline, 1.4, 95 forces, 11.6 seconds to 100 km / h, 9.8 / 5.7 liters per 100 km, mechanics
  • gasoline, 1.6, 109 forces, 10.7 seconds to 100 km / h, 9.2 / 5.9 liters per 100 km with mechanics; with a gun - 11.5 seconds to 100 km / h and 11.4 / 6.1 liters per 100 km
  • gasoline, 1.8, 121 l. s., 9.8 seconds to 100 km / h, 9.9 / 5.9 liters per 100 km with mechanics; with a gun - 10.9 seconds to 100 km / h and 12.2 / 6.8 liters per 100 km

Chevrolet Lacetti sedan, hatchback, station wagon fuel consumption reviews

With engine 1.4, 95 hp. s., MT

  • Timur, Moscow. I bought Chevrolet Lacetti in 2005, with mechanics and a 95-horsepower engine. Basic equipment, with a minimum of options. I immediately put a simple radio tape recorder with a cassette player, it is still gathering dust. Fuel consumption is about 10 liters in the city. I praise the sedan for good handling even on broken roads, a rather stiff suspension and lack of roll, a comfortable lounge and a spacious trunk. In general, the car is what you need. Budget and unpretentious. If you need to save a lot, you can serve yourself. The Lacetti has driven more than 150 thousand km, and the body is still like new. I confess, once repainted the side sills.
  • Konstantin, Nikolaev. I have a used Lacetti with 105,000 miles on it. Machine 2007, even more or less fresh copy. Caught in good condition, with a 1.5-liter engine. 95 forces such a sedan is enough. The car is comfortable and at the same time pleases with dynamics and tenacious brakes. Fuel consumption in the city of 10 liters.
  • Oleg, Kazan. I have version 1.4, with a capacity of 95 forces and a manual transmission. Then it was one of the cheapest foreign cars in the middle class. I bought it in 2006, and since then I have been driving it, I am not going to change it. I think that this car still has potential among modern small cars with inflatable engines. My Chevrolet has an engine with a simple design, aspirated. It is cheaper to maintain, durable and moderately economical. The city eats about 10 liters, which is considered the norm for such cars.
  • Julia, Rostov. I praise my lacetti for a beautiful Italian design, an economical one and a half liter engine with a capacity of 95 forces, fuel consumption of only 9-10 liters, a clear operation of the gearbox and a spacious interior. My kids liked the car as soon as they got into it. My son has grown up a little, I will soon teach him how to drive, so that later it would be easier to pass on the right.
  • Dmitry, Vorkuta. Car 2008, bought in 2015 with a mileage of 100,000. I did body tuning, installed aero body kits around the entire perimeter, screwed the spoiler to the trunk, painted it red and appearance became hurt. Thanks to the spoiler, it is felt that the engine has become better to pull. So, the aerodynamics are still improved. The car is already quite fast and dynamic, and this is largely due to the stiff suspension and minimal roll when cornering. Fuel consumes an average of 9-10 liters per hundred with a manual transmission.
  • Marina, Taganrog. Chevrolet Lacetti - the car of the era. My husband calls her that. Bestseller of the Russian market and the CIS countries, so to speak. We have the most basic version, 95-horsepower, consumes only 8-9 liters in the city. The main thing is not to overdo it with the mechanics with its short gears. Lacetti is like a family member for us, we carry both children and animals in it.
  • Sergey, Krasnodar Territory. The car was bought new in 2009 from a dealer in Moscow. I have relatives there. They bought and delivered to me. Just rolled up properly. They took the most basic version, with mechanics and a 95-horsepower 1.5 engine. But I still like the car, I quickly adjusted the driver's seat for myself. Turned on the heater, music and drove off. By the way, I also had to buy a radio tape recorder, otherwise it was a completely naked version. Friends like it, in terms of comfort it is practically not inferior to modern AvtoVAZ models. It almost does not differ from the Gentra, these are structurally identical machines. Fuel consumption with mechanics up to 10 liters per 100 km.
  • Nikita, Kaliningrad. Lacetti bought on New Year. Found on the ad version with a 95-horsepower engine, in good condition. Fuel consumption is a maximum of 12 liters per hundred. My wife and I love adventure, so we love to drive fast, which is why such an expense. Soon we will put HBO, and we will continue to pile on from the heart. A 95-horsepower engine is enough for most of our adventures.
  • Nikita, Lipetsk. A car is useful for all occasions - for working in a taxi, for family and other household needs. I have a sedan version, with a 1.5 95 hp engine. Then it was the best offer on the market among foreign cars. Model 2005, purchased as standard. The car accelerates quickly, as if there were 120 horses under the hood, no less. This is all thanks to a perfectly tuned chassis and elastic suspension. In general, Chevrolet engineers did their best. Fuel consumption does not exceed 11 liters / 100 km, which is not bad for a fairly large sedan 4.5 meters long.

With engine 1.6, 109 forces, MT

  • Boris, Peter. The car is decent, it still has potential. Fast and dynamic, just what I need. The engine produces 109 horses, acceleration to the first hundred in just 10 seconds. In my opinion, it is better not to find a budget car with such a motor. Gearbox mechanic, just for this engine. Competed with Lada Vesta with an engine of the same power. Confidently overtook Lada and several other competitors. Logan accelerating dynamics is also not a rival to my Lacetti. In general, a beast, not a machine. On weekends I participate in night races around the city. By the way, fuel consumption in the city is 12 liters per hundred.
  • Svyatoslav, Krasnodar Territory. I use my father's Chevrolet Lacetti in a taxi service. The machine justifies itself in a new role and reveals all its advantages. Repainted yellow to match and stand out in the flow. The engine is powerful, 109 forces, fuel consumption is an average of 11 liters. Arranges.
  • Alexey, Lipetsk. I have the top version of the Lacetti, I bought it in 2014. I drive and still enjoy the superbly tuned chassis. He did not regret a single gram that he took the version with mechanics, although friends persuaded him to take it with a gun. With a manual gearbox, the car is even faster. I tried to accelerate to 100 km / h on the highway, as a result, this procedure took about 10 seconds. An excellent result for a budget sedan. They are not a bit outdated and are able to compete with modern counterparts. They say that the same engine (1.6, 109 forces) was offered for the old Daewoo Nexia. It was a beast, not a machine. Lacetti is no worse. Eats an average of 10-12 liters per 100 km.
  • Stanislav, Tyumen. Chevrolet Lacetti was bought in 2010, with a mechanic's box and a 1.6 engine. At first they thought to take a version with 1.8 to 120 forces, but it was a very rare engine and the order would have to wait a long time. But the 1.6-liter Lacetti is also quite good 10 seconds to hundreds. Consumption up to 12 liters / 100 km.
  • Anton, Donetsk. The machine is quite suitable for my needs. I have a 2014 version, with a 109 horsepower engine. Bought a used model in 2015. For this I had to go to Rostov. Came back and got to work right away. The Lacetti is like a workhorse for me, great for transporting bulk products and canned food. I distribute them to the points where they give out humanitarian aid to pensioners and victims of hostilities in the Donbass. Nothing complicated, my Lacetti copes with it with a bang. So I drive every day around the city. The car is comfortable and dynamic, consumption of 12 liters.
  • Nadezhda, Tomsk region. I have a 2014 Lacetti, with a 1.6 engine and mechanics. Machine for work, I deliver orders in the region. Documents and other paper parcels. But such a sedan is also useful for household needs. For example, you can fold the rear seats and carry some long cargo. Fuel consumption 10-11 liters / 100 km.
  • Liza, Kazan. Lacetti became my second car after the VAZ-2107. The differences are colossal, even though the Chevrolet is not so new. Model 2007, with mechanics and engine 107 forces. Very fast yet reliable car. Now on the odometer 80 thousand mileage, no special problems have arisen yet. I serve in the service and do not know the problems. In short, I drive without worries, as in a real full-fledged foreign car. Albeit a budget one. Fuel consumption 10-12 liters with mechanics. Transfers are included clearly, which is very convenient when overtaking. On our roads, the Lacetti rides harshly, but this is the price for excellent handling.
  • Ramzan, Chechnya. The car is standing, I specifically chose the Lacetti with a 1.6 engine, so that later in a couple of months I wouldn’t think about new car. Fast, reliable and comfortable car, consumes 12 liters of fuel. I put a child seat in the back, there were no problems with installation. Everything is quite modern. Actively rulitsya and rides almost without banks, which is very useful at high speed.
  • Dmitry, Voronezh region. I have a 2008 Lacetti, with mechanics and a 1.6-liter engine that produces 109 forces. The engine is one of the main advantages of this budget model. You can easily go to the track and overtake any scorchers. The sedan has enough traction reserve, in the city this car is not equal among the competitors that we have in Voronezh - only Ladas and Solaris. Fuel consumption is 12-13 liters per hundred, if you put a lot of pressure on the gas. Salon average in spaciousness, but with a capacious trunk. Comfortable driving position, good sound insulation. I'm happy with the car.
  • Vitek, Belgorod. Bought a Chevrolet from a dealer in 2014. Just sold out the last cars. I got the top version, and also at a discount. Cheb not buy - I think. I even took it without a test drive, but I know this car like the back of my hand - I had to repair it more than once at a car service. The fuel consumption of my Lacetti is 12 liters, with a 1.6 engine and a manual gearbox.
  • Igor, Tyumen. Machine for all occasions, I like it. The whole potential of the Lacetti is in its high reliability and powerful engine, which in my version produces 109 horses. I'm ready to argue with Vesta, Solaris and Rio, which are more modern, but not as fast due to the fact that they are squeezed by tough economy standards. My Chevrolet Lacetti consumes 10-11 liters per 100 km. This is not much, but there is an alternative, how to reduce the cost of gasoline - this is the purchase of LPG, which I will do in the near future. I don’t use the car in winter, I’ve read reviews and now I’m afraid that corrosion will suddenly appear and again in service.

With engine 1.6, 109 forces, AT

  • Nikolay, Taganrog. I thought for a long time which version to buy - with mechanics or automatic, but so that the engine was 1.6, 109 forces. As a result, I settled on the version with a gun, and did not regret it. Anyway, I often ride in the city, and occasionally go to the highway. The gearbox smoothly shifts gears, and in my opinion fully reveals the potential of the motor. Only the consumption with it is a little more than that of mechanics - about 12 liters per hundred. But soon I will put HBO, and I will pile on to punish reckless drivers. The salon is assembled from solid plastic, albeit hard, but pleasant to the touch. It looks nice, although the controls are already a bit old. But everything is convenient and you don’t need to get used to it.
  • Nikolay, Lipetsk. A classic car for a taxi, what else can I say. I've been driving it for five years now and have no complaints. And customers are also happy with the machine. The sedan is comfortable and fast, the 109-horsepower engine does its job. The automatic gearbox works fine, the consumption is about 10-12 liters per 100 km. There is enough space in the back for three average builds.
  • Nikita, Novosibirsk. I have a Chevrolet Lacetti with an automatic, with a 1.6 engine. At first I planned to take a 1.8-liter engine, it was almost a sports car by those standards. Friends advised, persuaded, but I decided to do my own thing. I don't care for anything. The 1.6 engine is quite enough, especially since it produces an acceptable 109 horses. The dynamics pleased, acceleration to the first hundred takes 11-12 seconds. For a car with an archaic four-speed automatic, this is a worthy indicator. Due to the lack of fifth gear, the engine quickly runs into high revs and eats a lot of fuel. This often happens on the track when cruising speed is needed. In the city it eats 12 liters, but on the highway it could be less - at least 10 liters.
  • Anna, Simferopol. The car is very comfortable, I feel at home in it, and this is its main plus. I say this because I'm used to it. The salon is made in pleasant warm colors, and in general the interior looks friendly. With a 1.6 engine and an automatic, fuel consumption reaches 12 l / 100 km. This is in the city, and on the highway it turns out about 9 liters.
  • Sergei, Rostov. The car pleased with decent dynamics and high reliability. We have a 2010 version, with a 1.6 engine and a four-speed. I regret a little that I did not take it with the mechanics. With it, the car is more dynamic and more economical. Alas, you have to pay for comfort. The fact is that with an automatic transmission, they turn on more smoothly and more imperceptibly. Better ride, and you ride as if in a business class sedan. Fuel consumption 12-13 liters in the city. I liked the car, I would take one for myself, but technical progress does not stand still. Soon I will go to the trade-in and change to Vesta.
  • Konstantin, Sakhalin region. Chevrolet Lacetti in our body is a four-door sedan, with a 1.6 engine and automatic transmission. In my opinion, a good combination for a compact city car. Bought in 2014, just before all this crisis mess. Fuel consumption is an average of 11-12 liters, it suits me. The family likes the car, the eldest daughter is already asking to learn how to drive. And for this she needs only the Lacetti.
  • Masha, Peter. Chevrolet Lacetti for my lifestyle is a decent car. The 109-horsepower engine in the cabin is barely audible - that's how I checked the sound insulation. I liked the doors themselves, which close with a characteristic pop, like a prestigious German car. You can feel the level even in small things. The controls are simple, and this is their advantage. Everything is at hand, convenient gear lever. You can drive in manual mode, fuel consumption is an average of 10-12 liters with automatic transmission. On the highway I drive under 200, in the city a maximum of 70-80 km / h. And in that and in that case, the ride is comfortable, exchange rate stability is excellent.
    With engine 1.8, 122 hp. s., MT
  • Vasily, Sverdlovsk. I decided not to trifle, and took the top-end Chevrolet Lacetti package. I explain, this is a version with a 1.8 engine, power 122 forces. Chose with a manual, it better reveals the potential of the engine. By the way, a similar unit is installed on the top Vestas. After the purchase, I immediately decided to check who is faster. True, I have a mechanic, and Lada Vesta with a robot. As a result, parity, no one won. In terms of dynamics, the cars were about the same level. Of course, Lada is a more modern car, but the Lacetti was very cheap by those standards. Fuel consumption is 11-12 liters per 100 km.
  • Oleg, Yaroslavl. I took a supported Lacetti with a 1.8-liter engine and mechanics. Accelerates to the first hundred in ten seconds. The car is used actively, in the city and on the highway. Sometimes at night I ride in amateur races, because this car is capable of much. Made an even stiffer suspension. Fuel consumption with my driving style is 13-14 liters per hundred.
  • Igor, Moscow region. I had to wait two months for the Lacetti with a rare 1.8 engine and mechanics. At first I planned to order with a machine gun, but this one would arrive in three months. It was in 2013, we then wanted to catch the network behind the wheel of a Chevrolet by the New Year, so we decided not to wait for the automatic. The car arrived just on December 25, and it was our most important gift for the new year. 122 forces, 1.8 engine and mechanics - good combination for fast driving. Fuel consumption is low - only 12 liters on average. We service the car at a branded service station, the car is generally reliable. Already traveled 80 thousand km. Of the unforeseen malfunctions, only the wipers were changed, their motors suddenly failed.
  • Nikita, Vladimir I praise the Chevrolet Lacetti for its flexible and high-torque engine, precise operation of the manual transmission and high fuel efficiency - an average of 12 liters, which is very good for such amazing dynamics. Pleased with a comfortable fit, passengers also sit comfortably and do not complain. It's just noisy at high speeds.

With engine 1.8, 122 hp. s., AT

  • Alexei, Leningrad region. All I need in this car is its 1.8-liter engine. It produces 122 horses - very decent for an aspirated engine, which was invented in the early 2000s. For a budget sedan, this is just a gift and not a motor. At that time, the unit was worthy, but we did not use very rare demand. But I was from that circle of buyers who want to stand out from the crowd. So I took the top-end Lacetti, and even with a gun. Fuel consumption is about 13 liters in the city. I have gas, so there are no problems with the maintenance of the car. The only negative is that the smell of gas seeps into the cabin, especially when you drive in dynamic mode. The problem appeared over time. In short, it's time to take it to the service.
  • Margarita, Kyiv. I love fast cars, like this Chevrolet Lacetti with a 1.8 engine. Car with automatic transmission. I liked the handling, quick reactions to steering, informative gas and brake pedals. The box works with hesitation, but what can you do, this is a budget class. In general, the sedan behaves dynamically and unattainably. Fuel consumption 12-13 liters.
  • Nicholas, Poltava. My Lacetti has the perfect combination of dynamics and comfort. This is a real people's car, and it was not in vain that it was in high demand in Russia. Although the 1.8-liter version did not seem to be imported to us. I bought a supported version, most likely imported from abroad. Found on the ad, a car with a gun, produces 122 forces. Acceleration to hundreds in 10-11 seconds. With the pedal constantly pressed to the floor, fuel consumption reaches 12-13 liters per hundred. For a budget sedan, this is already the ceiling, it's time to switch to gas. And install a spoiler.
  • Alexander, St. Petersburg. I have been working in a taxi service for four years, together with a Chevrolet Lacetti sedan. I wanted to treat myself and take the 122 hp version. with. with an automatic. I will not say that the car is fast, but perhaps only in the city. It starts briskly from a place, but at speeds above 80 km / h, the engine starts to turn sour quickly. Fuel consumption 12 liters.

Probably the most relevant topic for Chevrolet Lacetti owners is fuel consumption. The Lacetti has fuel consumption and, in fact, even for a 1.4-liter engine, it is too big by modern standards. Even very big! As one familiar owner of the Chevrolet Lacetti says: “The only way to reduce fuel consumption on the Lacetti is to buy another car :)”

But it is not all that bad. There are still ways to reduce the fuel consumption of the Chevrolet Lacetti. Consider the issue of fuel consumption on the example of my Chevrolet Lacetti Hatchback 1.6 MT. According to the manufacturer's data, the average conditional fuel consumption is -7.1 l / 100km, city - 9.1 l / 100km, Highway - 6.0 l / 100km. Yes, the data for a modern car is frightening - more than 9 liters per 100 km in the city! And this is the manufacturer's data, but in practice, as you know, things are a little different and obviously not in a smaller direction.

But the question is different. Why does the fuel consumption of the Lacetti vary so much between individual examples of the same model?

It is very common to hear that for some, fuel consumption exceeds even 15 liters per hundred kilometers.

So it is in my case. The map of my movements is approximately 80% city and 20% highway. The fuel consumption of my Lacetti is 8.6-8.8 l/100km. In my opinion, this is a fairly acceptable consumption for this engine. But a friend (and many too) has a 1.4 sedan fuel consumption! exceeds 12 l / 100 km.

So why is that? I do not use any additives, and no "miracle magnets". It's just all about the little things.

High fuel consumption Lacetti

To reduce fuel consumption on a car, you need to perform a few simple but important steps and learn how to follow some rules.

The first and, probably, the most important thing I will state first. It is necessary to learn how to properly drive a car with an engine management system (popularly - injection). Namely, use the cut-off mode for the benefit of your pocket. For those who do not know what it is, I will briefly explain.

The cutoff mode is a banal engine braking. But not entirely banal. The fact is that under certain conditions in the cut-off mode, the ECU reduces the fuel supply through the injectors! Until the complete cessation of fuel supply. For example, at idle, the duration of the injection pulse is 2.5-3 ms, and in cut-off mode, it is usually 1-1.5 ms. That is, it is twice as cheap to go!

Certain conditions are usually:

  • coolant temperature above 70 degrees
  • engine speed above 1500 rpm.
  • throttle closed
  • absolute pressure in the intake manifold is below 28-25 kPa

That is, if the engine is warm, and you are accelerating or moving downhill, then do not shift to neutral, but simply release the accelerator pedal and continue driving. If there is a planned deceleration ahead, then shift into a lower gear and brake with the engine. At this moment, you will drive cheaper or absolutely free (in terms of fuel) and, in addition, you will significantly save on brake pads and discs

Compliance with this rule alone can significantly reduce fuel consumption!

But here, too, there are nuances. On different firmware, the reduction in the injection pulse time may differ. If it decreases slightly, then the desired savings will not work. Because in the cut-off mode, the speed is higher than at xx and they level out a slight decrease in injection time.

Well, in general, it is desirable to fulfill these important points:

1. Try to refuel in one place so that the ECU spends less time on “adjusting” to another gasoline.

A lot of things are curled from these sensors during the formation of the fuel-air mixture

14.Remember when you changed the air filter? A dirty filter increases fuel consumption.

16. Perhaps one of the main points is to decide here

18. And of course, the correct and calm ride without sudden acceleration and braking. Do not raise the engine speed above 3000 rpm. Well, of course it's possible :)

That's all the main ways to reduce the fuel consumption of the Lacetti.

Take care of yourself and good luck on the road!

Real owner reviews about fuel consumption on the Chevrolet Lacetti:

Chevrolet Lacetti 1.4, gasoline engine, gearbox - mechanics:

  • I have a 1.4 liter engine, station wagon, in fact, the fuel consumption is such that it seems to be worth a two-liter one. There is no air conditioning in the configuration, in winter it takes an average of 15 liters, gasoline per 100 km. When driving on the highway, sometimes the consumption of gasoline is about 8.4-9.2 liters of 95 gasoline, it generally eats like a big one. But most often I go on business around the city.
  • This car has a fuel consumption of approximately 8 liters per hundred square meters, if you accelerate to a mark of 120 km / h, it turns out less. As soon as I bought it, I ate less at first, after running it was normal consumption. In general, for a 1.4-liter station wagon engine, fuel consumption of 8 liters is large.

Chevrolet Lacetti 1.4, reviewed by Mikhail from Samara

  • I have a 1.4 engine, fuel consumption is high, it is 13 liters of gasoline on the highway, this is if you drive 122-135 km / h, if you dial a hundred on the speedometer, then it comes out to about 10 liters per 100 km.
  • Mostly driving to school, often standing in traffic jams. Fuel consumption in the city - an average of 10-11 liters, on the highway, if you accelerate - 14-15 liters can easily go 100 km. Engine 1.4.
  • I think he eats a lot! There were even cases when fuel consumption was high, reaching up to 16 liters per 100 kilometers! At a speed of 100-120. This is a lot for a station wagon with a 1.4 engine, it feels like I have a 1.8 liter engine under the hood.

Chevrolet Lacetti with 1.6 engine, automatic transmission:

  • I have a 1.6 engine, automatic transmission, station wagon. I will say the following: for an automatic machine, the car eats quite a lot. If you drown in full, fuel consumption is an average of 15 liters per 100 kilometers. If you properly adapt to the box, then in different time year comes out from 9 to 12 liters of gasoline. When driving long distances on the highway, fuel consumption is about 7 liters per 100 km.
  • If you don’t really drive, drive measuredly, it reaches 9 liters per 100 km, this is in the city, on the highway, if you push it, gasoline consumption can reach up to 12 liters. In general, I am quite satisfied with the efficiency of the 1.6 liter engine.
  • With a 1.6 engine, automatic when driving around the city to work, fuel consumption is 9 liters, when I go to the country, it happened even 8, I think it’s quite normal. In general, I think that it all depends on the driving style, you don’t have to put pressure on the gas pedal with all your dope.

Chevrolet Lacetti 1.6, mechanics:

  • Auto with 1.6 engine, mechanics. When driving around the city, I get fuel consumption in the region of 10 liters per 100 km, about 7 liters of gasoline go along the highway. In general, pretty good, but I would also like to save money. The driving style is non-aggressive, I don’t arrange races.
  • Everything suits, except for fuel consumption on a 1.6 liter engine. In traffic jams in winter, the city gets about 12 liters per 100 km. Although, of course, consumption also depends on driving style. Yes, in other matters, traffic jams always increase fuel consumption.
  • It would be nice if the consumption of gasoline was less on a 1.6 horsepower engine. The on-board computer shows a figure of 0.7 to more than one liter per hour - this is if I am driving in neutral. In heavy traffic jams in the city, fuel consumption usually reaches 12 liters per hundred. On the track is spent from five to eight liters. I think that normal fuel consumption should be at average speed at 73-85 km / h about 6.2-7.3 liters per 100 km of traveled distance. I don’t see much difference in the use of 92 and 95 gasoline.

Chevrolet Lacetti 1.8, mileage in Russia 149 thousand km

  • During winter operation, fuel consumption is high, on average it is 10 liters per 100 kilometers, sometimes it happened more - about 13. But for me this is somehow too much. Since I live outside the city, I don’t particularly encounter traffic jams. I often have to load the station wagon to the eyeballs, I think, maybe such consumption is due to this? I have a Chevrolet Lacetti 1.8 liter, with a manual transmission.

Fuel consumption is one of the most controversial issues. According to the technical documentation, these are some indicators, but in reality they are completely different. We will try to achieve the truth, and also consider what numbers the manufacturer gives.

Fuel consumption according to factory data

The manufacturer prescribes the consumption rates according to the test indications before commissioning vehicle. So, the average consumption of Lacetti of different generations should be from 7.1 to 8.8 liters.

Consider the table of the main consumption indicators for different generations of Lacetti, taking into account the volume of the engine and gearbox:

Fuel consumption according to owners

If, according to the manufacturer's indicators, the consumption is from 7.1 to 8.8 liters per 100 kilometers, then in reality the situation is completely different. After a few months of operation, everything changes dramatically. So, according to most owners, there is an increase in consumption, especially in the urban cycle.

It should be borne in mind that many car owners, instead of the recommended AI-95, fill in the usual 92nd, which can also increase consumption. At the same time, everything remains unchanged on the highway - 7-8 liters, and from around the city to jump up to 8-10 liters.

In order to adhere to the fuel consumption set by the factory, the manufacturer recommends regular maintenance, filling in high-quality fuel, and also not “reckless”.

Conclusion

Fuel consumption on a Chevrolet Lacetti is from 7.1 to 8.8 liters per 100 km according to the manufacturer's standards. According to the owners, this approximately coincides with reality. Of course, you can reduce the indicator using chip tuning or other known methods.

The Chevrolet Lacetti first saw the light of day in 2003. Released in South Korea it replaced the Daewoo Nubira and, thanks to its excellent combination of price and quality, immediately showed a high sales rating. Stylish design, cheap maintenance, fuel consumption Chevrolet Lacetti - these and many other advantages brought him to a leading position among other C-class cars. By the way, Italian designers successfully worked on the exterior of the car, so even today it looks quite modern.

Chevrolet Lacetti engine modifications

This model is presented in three types of body:

  • sedan;
  • hatchback;
  • station wagon;

The engines are available in three versions with manual and automatic transmissions.

Modification 1.4 mt

Such the car is equipped with a 1.4 liter engine, the smallest volume of this line of machines. With a power of 94 horsepower, it reaches speeds of up to 175 km / h and is equipped with a five-speed manual transmission.

Fuel consumption on a Chevrolet Lacetti with an engine capacity of 1.4 liters for a hatchback and a sedan is the same. He is 9.3 liters per 100 km for the urban cycle and 5.9 liters for the suburban. The most economical urban option pleases its owners not only with fuel consumption, but also with comfortable driving conditions.

Modification 1.6 mt

Fuel consumption on the Lacetti with a 1.6-liter engine depends on the type of body. Engines of this size are supplemented with an injector and were produced until 2010. Such sedans and hatchbacks reached speeds of up to 187 km / h with a maximum power of 109 horsepower. The car was produced with a five-speed mechanics.

The average fuel consumption of the Lacetti Hatchback in the city is 9.1 liters per 100 km, the same figure for the sedan. But the station wagon in the same urban cycle "winds" already 10.2 liters.

Modification 1.6 at

Similar in power, but with a 4-speed automatic transmission, the car won its fans with reliability and durability. Despite the fact that the automatic transmission is rather capricious, the car does not need frequent maintenance. The fuel consumption figures declared by the manufacturer on it are the same as in the version with manual transmission. The Chevrolet Lacetti's fuel consumption rate on the highway is 6 liters per 100 kilometers.

Modification 1.8 at

The most powerful version of the car has 122 horsepower, accelerates to 184 km / h and is equipped with a 1.8 liter gasoline engine and an automatic transmission.

Chevrolet's fuel consumption per 100 km will be higher for such models, but it remains the same for all body types. So in in the city, the fuel tank will empty by 9.8 liters per 100 km, and on the highway, consumption will be 6.2 l per hundred.

Modification 1.8 mt

The car is designed for those who are accustomed to completely subjugate the driving process. This Lacetti has the same engine power characteristics and gas mileage, but, interestingly, a car with a manual transmission can reach speeds of up to 195 km / h.

Real consumption and ways to save fuel

Factory performance is impressive, but is it real consumption Chevrolet Lacetti fuel per 100 km?

This value depends on many factors. Drivers cannot influence such as, for example, city traffic jams, air temperature in winter, road conditions. But there are ways by which the consumption of gasoline by a car can be significantly reduced:

  • Riding style. One of the main factors affecting consumption is experience and driving skills. This is confirmed by reviews that the fuel consumption on a Chevrolet Lacetti (automatic) is slightly higher than on a car of the same power, but with a manual gearbox, where the engine speed is controlled by an experienced driver.
  • It is better to refuel the car in the same proven place, because the lower the quality of gasoline, the greater its consumption.
  • Low tire pressure increases fuel consumption by more than 3%, so it is important to check the condition of the wheels as often as possible and inflate them regularly.
  • Travel speed. Mercedes-Benz engineers calculated the aerodynamic properties of cars and came to the conclusion that when driving at a speed of more than 80 km / h, the rate of fuel consumption increases sharply.
  • The air conditioner and heater affect the flow rate quite strongly. To save fuel, you should not turn on these devices unnecessarily, but it is important to remember that open windows create increased air resistance and lead to high consumption.
  • Excess weight. You should not carry unnecessary things in the trunk for a long time that add weight to the car, since more fuel is required to accelerate a heavy body. Gasoline consumption on a Chevrolet Lacetti station wagon will increase by 10-15% with a tightly packed trunk.
  • Also, regular visits to the service station will help keep the car in good condition and prevent unnecessary waste of fuel. This will help to appreciate the Chevrolet Lacetti, unique in its class, combining beauty, economy and high quality.
