Alexander Abdulov is one of the most recognizable actors in Russian cinema. He was born in 1953, on May 29, in the coldest city in the Tyumen region - Tobolsk. Despite belonging to the Russian nation, some sources claim that Tatars were also present in Abdulov's genological tree.
Childhood and youth
A talented actor could only be born in a creative family. The head of the family, Gabriel, devoted his whole life to directing, and his mother, Lyuda, was a costume designer and make-up artist. The Abdulov couple worked in the same theater.
At the age of three, Sasha and his family moved to Uzbekistan, to the town of Fergana. There, two years later, the younger Abdulov made his stage debut. Alexander did not have a particular craving for art. He was more interested in music and sports. He was very active, so school did not go well. In his youth, Abdulov Jr. learned to play the guitar. He made his first instrument himself. Alexander was also attracted to fencing, in which he grew up to CMS.
Parents saw Sasha in the theater, so they insisted on his studies at the Theater School, where he did not pass the selection. Returning home from the capital, he submits documents to the Faculty of Physical Education of the Pedagogical Institute.
A year after the failure to enter the Theater School, Alexander submits documents to GITIS. This time everything went well. The elder brothers of the future actor also tried themselves as an actor, but did not achieve much success.
Carier start
Alexander Abdulov was a provincial, so the conquest of the capital was difficult for him. He wandered around the dormitories and earned his bread by unloading wagons at night. Abdulov was not upset, because he knew that any work would be rewarded sooner or later.
His first film appearances took place in 1969, where he participated in the extras in the film "Gold". Later, he takes a similar part in the movie Near These Windows. After defending the diploma of a promising actor invites Mark Zakharov to his theater.

The love affairs of the actor began from the school bench. His first love was a shy classmate Natalya. Abdulov had serious intentions towards her and even called her to his capital, but she refused.
Alexander met the next chosen one in his student years. At one of the discos, he liked Tatyana, a student at the medical institute. The blond, slender girl turned the actor's head and he abandoned his studies for a while, which almost led to expulsion from GITIS. The stormy romance also ended quickly - Sasha convicted Tatiana of treason.
A broken heart almost led to the death of Abdulov. He tried to die by cutting his veins, but he was saved by a hostel neighbor. According to rumors, Alexander had a love affair with an American who was accused of espionage.
The first wife of Alexander was Tatyana Leibel. The whole capital was buzzing about their romance, but their relationship ended pretty quickly. Working at Lenkom, Abdulova liked the actress Irina Alferova. It took him a long time to win her heart. The actress had a hard time going through a divorce, left alone with her little daughter.
Alexander Abdulov all achieved the location of the actress. They secretly got married, and he accepted her daughter, Xenia, as his own. Their family was the standard for many, but alas, the marriage was not eternal. In 1993, after 17 years of marriage, Irina and Alexander decided to divorce. Abdulov left his ex-wife and daughter an apartment, and he himself moved to the closet, which he was given at Lenkom.
The young ballerina Galina Lobanova becomes the new beloved of the actor. With her, he will live in a civil marriage for 8 years. Galina's constant conversations about legal marriage lead to the end of their relationship.

I remember one fall the class went to pick cotton. Almost all the guys were members of the Komsomol, but Abdulov was not. My mother understood that in this situation he would not be able to enter the theater institute. Then classmates decided to help Sasha. They overfulfilled the plan for the cotton harvest and wrote it down to Abdulov. On the same evening he was accepted into the Komsomol.

The guys in the 10th grade were preparing New Year's Eve. When everyone gathered and began to celebrate, three girls in images as if from the 19th century entered the hall. Everything was very believable: curls, crinoline, shoes. They began to play a scene. Everyone was taken aback by surprise. When they began to look at the girls, someone shouted: “It's Sasha!” It turns out that Abdulov asked his father (Gavriil Danilovich worked as a director at the Ferghana Theater, and his mother Lyudmila Alexandrovna worked as a make-up artist. - Approx. "Antennas") to help with makeup and costumes. Alexander never forgot his native school. In 2001, he visited Ferghana, visited the teachers. We also kept in touch with him.
First love betrayed him
- In 1971, I met Sasha when I entered GITIS (after graduating from school, Abdulov tried to enter the Shchepkin Theater School. It didn’t work out. Studied no matter, because from the second year he began acting. At that time we were not allowed to do this, they said: “First, learn something, otherwise they will use you, stamp you, and you will be half-educated.” Sasha was just starting his career and was real: he played, spent himself, fell in love. His first love was called Tanya, she worked as a midwife in the maternity hospital. He kept running towards her. Once Abdulov found out that the girl had cheated on him. This was a blow to him. He even locked himself in a dorm room. We, his friends, were worried that he had not been in contact for so long. When they opened the door, they saw Sasha, who was sitting with cut veins and a basin of water, which was already purple with blood. I wanted to die because of jealousy. We are now actively looking for Tanya. They say that she has a son from Abdulov. He is probably in his 40s.
Sasha often skipped school. We were then forced to bring certificates of illness. Then the head of the course was called to the dean’s office: “Why does Abdulov have the stamp of the maternity hospital on the hospital bulletin?” It turned out that Tanya was making inquiries to him.
Could work for days. Friends told him, they say, it’s impossible, but he only denied: “If I don’t take it off now, then I’ll never take it off”
Sasha was most important profile areas - acting, vocals, fencing. He was not particularly interested in humanitarian subjects. For example, he took the history of the CPSU three times. And there were a lot of such cases.

The second stage of Sasha's life began when Mark Zakharov invited him to Lenkom and began to make films. Abdulov became a star. We didn't see each other for some time after graduation. Fate brought us together at a film festival in the Tver region, where I came to shoot him for my program "Kinoserpantin". There I saw a completely different Sasha. He bathed in people's love, was incredibly ironic. But it didn't look good anymore.
The third period of Abdulov's life was when he was informed that he was ill. In Israel, where he went for an examination, he was told that he had problems with his lungs. But he continued to smoke. Even when he died, he still smoked. He was not one of those people who took care of themselves. When I watched amateur videos, I noticed how calm, wise and very deep a person he was. Recently, he came to such a vital and philosophical conclusion: "Love each other and take care of." His handsome, thoroughbred face was emaciated by illness. Sasha left and failed to fully realize himself.
“I just realized that health is the most important thing”
In August 2007, Alexander Abdulov was hospitalized with a diagnosis of "perforated stomach ulcer" and underwent surgery. Suddenly, the actor got worse: they started serious problems with a heart, and he was transferred to intensive care. A month later, Abdulov was diagnosed with lung cancer in the fourth stage - incurable and inoperable.
“I saw Alexander when he was sick,” says film critic Lyudmila Bakhtina. - It was clear that the person was already on the verge. And, probably, he himself was aware of everything, so he tried to live to the fullest. Desperately acted in films, played in the theater. But the body could not withstand such mockery, it failed. Abdulov was brought to the Sevastopol hospital directly from the filming of "The Hyperboloid of Engineer Garin". He dreamed about this picture for more than 10 years. I wanted to amaze everyone with special effects, shoot a super blockbuster. Could work for days. Friends told him, they say, it’s impossible, you burn yourself, and he only denied: “If I don’t take it off now, then I’ll never take it off.” Then, sleepy, he went to rehearsals. He was terribly tormented by pain in his back. He ate very little and began to lose weight. He said he had no appetite. Apparently, the ulcer made itself felt.

The last film work of Alexander Abdulov was Vladimir Fokin's film "From Nowhere with Love, or Merry Funeral".
“His hero, the artist Alik, has a rare disease, when muscles atrophy and a person turns into a skeleton,” continues Bakhtina. The picture shows the last three days of his life. Alexander kept saying that one could only dream of such an acting freebie. After all, he didn't have to do anything. As painfully as his character, Abdulov himself left. Already in last days no medication helped him. The actor, realizing that there was nothing to return, said: “Only now I realized that health is the most important thing.” It is a pity that people come to simple truths very late ... Alexander died on January 3, 2008 at the 55th year of his life. There is no one like him and there never will be.
Took the initiative
For three years, the actor lived in a civil marriage with a ballerina and dancer Tatyana Leibel. After parting with her, he met one of the most beautiful actresses of Russian cinema - Irina Alferova. After the wedding, the couple got married, lived together for 17 years. The last official wife of Abdulov was the lawyer Yulia, who gave her husband a daughter, Eugene (she turned 11 this year).
“Sasha and I met at a party,” says Tatyana Leibel, Abdulov’s first common-law wife, now she lives in Canada. - Once a friend invited me to his friends: “Why are you all the time alone? You don't go anywhere, no one sees you. Let's go dance. You'll like it". In the apartment I saw Sasha and Zhora Martirosyan. They both began to take care of me. And Sasha realized that he needed to somehow change the situation. Took the initiative in his own hands to impress me. He lit candles and began to sing a romance with a guitar. I remember how deeply he looked at me. Then he said: “Maybe you won’t leave?” We talked all night, exchanged phone numbers. This is how our story began.
Didn't have time to see his daughter grow up
“Each role took a piece of Sasha’s health,” says Abdulov’s friend, lawyer Mikhail Tsivin. “He took a lot to heart and treated himself lightly. I've taken it to the extreme. During his lifetime, he actively helped build the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin in Putinki. I began, let's say, to turn to higher powers. After all, when people's hope dies, they turn to God for help and count on it very much. The help of the church became for him something like confession and atonement for sins. He wanted to leave a memory of himself. Until the last moment, I thought that the disease would recede. I wanted to do a lot, but I already had very little strength. I thought about how to quickly finish the film "The Bremen Town Musicians and Co." on which he worked incessantly.
He was a sociable person. I remember we gathered in the bathhouse with our men's company, we could discuss girls, a new denim suit. Abdulov loved his friends, and his friends loved him. We saw him six months before his death at a film festival. We embraced, he showed a photo of Zhenechka's daughter, but, unfortunately, did not have time to see how she was growing up. Now she is already trying herself in the cinema (last year the girl made her debut in Alla Surikova's film Love and Sax. - Approx. "Antennas"). I'm sure she will succeed!
I am grateful to everyone for the monument that was erected to Sasha at the Vagankovsky cemetery. Someone likes it, someone says that it is too modern. I think that for such a big and unpredictable artist as Abdulov, he is very suitable. Every year on May 29, we gather at his grave, bring flowers, commemorate a beloved friend. It will be the same this time.
