The concept of "Lawyer" means a specialist in legal sciences, a practitioner in law.

This includes judges, notaries, lawyers, investigators, that is, all persons providing legal and legal assistance to citizens in certain situations. Basically it is protection of the rights and interests of clients.

To get a job as a lawyer, you need to get a specialized secondary (college) or higher professional (university) education. Any student who has passed the relevant exams and scored a passing score can apply for it.

Good to know: many citizens are sure that the criminal record of relatives can affect their admission, but this is not the case: this fact will not affect education in any way, but employment in state organizations (the prosecutor's office, the court) may be refused.

What items to take

To enter the Faculty of Law after the 11th grade, it is necessary to pass the Russian language and mathematics at the basic level - these are compulsory subjects for all graduates.

Social studies are mandatory for lawyers.

The list of other exams is taken by a particular university and depends on its specialization and subsequent program.

Mostly it is about history or computer science, another "popular" exam is a foreign language. You can take English, French, German or Spanish, other languages are not accepted.

Note: the list of all disciplines for delivery was approved by order No. 1204 of 2014 of the Ministry of Education and Science.

Before choosing subjects for the exam, you need to find out at a particular university a list of disciplines accepted by it. Admission to college after grade 9 is based on exams or interviews, usually Russian, social studies and history. GIA or USE results are not accepted.

What you need to submit to a lawyer

The main difference between a lawyer and a “simple” lawyer is the ability to defend in criminal cases.

It will not be possible to get the profession of a lawyer right away - universities only offer to become a lawyer. Applicants will have to:

  1. Graduate from the university with a degree in jurisprudence.
  2. Work at least 2 years in the specialty.
  3. Pass the bar exams. To do this, you must write an application to the Chamber of Advocates of the region in which the applicant lives and pays taxes.

The second option is to obtain a degree in law.

Take into account: it is impossible to get the profession of a lawyer after graduating from college - you will need a diploma of higher legal education.

To obtain the profession of a lawyer, it is not enough to enter a university or college, having passed the entrance examinations - it is recommended to pay special attention to the university itself (the more prestigious it is, the easier it will be to get a job).

Knowledge of legal information systems (usually "Consultant" or "Code") and work experience are also required. You can gain experience already in the last courses, getting a job as an assistant to a lawyer or a judge.
